Birdie Wing: Golf Girls’ Story (Episode 4) – Vipère
What happened?
So, it turned out that Rose had one of her girls point a laser at Aoi as she took that last shot, which was why she missed. They needed Aoi and Eve’s rivalry to continue, especially as she had a job for Eve. Aoi challenged Eve to play her again. They would meet at the first tee at five in the morning and play until her flight home. Eve was excited to continue their game.
However, Rose had something she needed Eve for first – payback for getting her into the tournament. Catherine has ties with the Mafia and there’s a dispute about some land. It’s headed towards a bloody resolution unless they can solve it with a high-stakes game of golf. Eve would represent Catherine, although she would face a legendary golfer known as Vipère. Eve had never heard of her!
They played on Catherine’s underground golf course which can randomly adjust the terrain, creating an unlimited number of holes. Eve was keen to win so that she could make it to play Aoi at five. Vipère was looking forward to making Eve her new plaything. Things started weird for Eve, but after a while, she realised what was going on and found a way to resist Vipère’s poisonous attack to win. However, she didn’t make it to the first tee in time and found Aoi’s ball with the word ‘liar’ written on it!

What did you think?
Well, I was not expecting an underground golf facility quite like that. It was spectacular and I’m so glad we’ve got that level of craziness in this series. The game between Eve and Vipère was great, although it was quite obvious that she was affecting Eve every time she unzipped her top. The game took up most of the episode, but it was the last couple of minutes that I will never forget.
Eve won and made Vipère drive her to the golf course to meet Aoi. However, it was four hours away and it was already three in the morning. Aoi waited for Eve for ages and then gave up, leaving her golf ball on the tee. She had drawn a tear on the Pac-Man logo and written liar on the back. That stung. Aoi was obviously upset and now so was Eve. Damn it, there better be a romantic element in this series now. These two are meant to be together.
I had no idea what to expect when I started watching this series and every episode seems to challenge those expectations even more. I’m not sure how it will keep doing that, but I’m at the point now where I don’t think anything is off the table. That makes this series exciting beyond the golf and the relationship between Eve and Aoi. I am genuinely loving this show.
