Chainsaw Man (Episode 11) – Mission Start
What happened?
Aki’s meeting with the Future Devil was short and sweet. He’d been warned that the previous contracts it had negotiated came with a steep price. Regardless, Aki stepped into the cell and placed his head inside the Future Devil’s stomach. The Future Devil almost squealed with delight as he looked into Aki’s future. He would give Aki his powers and all he asked in return was to live in Aki’s right eye. That’s it. Aki agreed although the Future Devil wanted to tell him why. It had seen his death and it was going to be fantastic!
Division Four were in the midst of preparing to go after the Sword Devil and the woman that had a contract with the Snake Devil. It was to be the debut of the Special Division which was made up almost entirely of non-humans. Beforehand, Kishibe met with Makima to discuss Denji and Power’s progress. He also wanted to know what Makima was planning as he was sure she knew the attack was coming. Makima told him something about saving more people, but he called her a liar.
Later, Makima visited with the Yakuza family that had been aligned with Denji’s former tormenter and grandfather of the Sword Devil. She wanted the names of everyone involved and the rival families. They refused so Makima pulled out a little paper bag and handed it to the boss. Inside were the eyes of family and friends of everyone in the room. She had someone that could put them back if they complied. With the information acquired Division Four began its assault.
What did you think?
So, we went through all this so that Makima could unleash her team of devils onto the world. There were certainly some wild characters involved as they attacked the tower block where the Sword Devil was hiding. However, the moment that really caught my eye was when Aki caught up with the woman with the snake devil contract. She commanded it to spit something up and he found himself face to face with the Ghost Devil. Hibeno’s Ghost Devil. Maybe, this is a pipedream, but part of me is wondering if Hibeno will be returned to us. Could the Ghost Devil bring her back? I hope so.
As well as that, I loved that scene with Makima and the Yakuza. She is absolutely terrifying and her speech about the necessary evils was incredible. She laughed at the Yakuza for their stance, revealing what a true necessary evil looks like. I still believe she’s more than a necessary evil and that she’s scheming something nasty up. I’ve not trusted her since the beginning when she told Denji he could be her dog or she could kill him. There’s just one episode left in the season and they hit us with the Cliffhanger Devil… I can’t wait!
