Lycoris Recoil (Episode 6) – Opposites attract
What happened?
Majima has given Robota three days to locate the headquarters of the Lycoris. He’s tired of going after the small fry and wants to take the fight to the top. Of course, that’s easier said than done. Meanwhile, the word is out about the attacks on the Lycoris and everyone has been warned about being alone. As such, Takina has decided to stay at Chisato’s place until it’s safer. Chisato is delighted and not just because she’s just made Takina do all the chores, defeating her in every game of rock, paper, scissors.
Wearing a poncho so that the bad guys don’t recognise her, Chisato goes out to make a delivery. However, not long after she’s gone, Kasumi reveals that the bad guys had leaked info about the Lycoris, they may be targeting Chisato, and she’s the one responsible for the hacking incident. That’s a lot to process, but first things first, Chisato is in danger. Mika tries to warn her, but Majima has already sprung his trap.
Chisato fights back, but her non-lethal attacks are causing more problems. Just when it looks like it’s all over, Takina arrives to offer support. They eventually escape thanks to Kasumi crashing a drone into a guy about to fire a rocket launcher at them. They got away, but Majima is excited about this new challenge. Meanwhile, Takina finally defeats Chisato at rock, paper, scissors. Her victory dance is everything anyone has been waiting for and more!

What did you think?
It was quite a compact episode, but that just heightened the tension. The attack on Chisato was crazy, although Majima made an interesting comment during the fight. He noticed Chisato’s Alan Institute necklace and asked her what her mission was. This makes me think that he may have received one too and is aware that there are strings attached. Presumably, Chisato is trying to avoid her mission, but it will, no doubt, come back to haunt her.
And, as always, Chisato and Takina continue to have the most amazing chemistry. I loved Chisato’s reaction when Takina announced she was staying over. Takina’s reaction to losing all the games of rock, paper, scissors was hilarious. Then, everyone’s reaction to learning that Kasumi was the one that hacked the DA which started everything was also great. However, Takina’s victory dance and Chisato’s reaction to losing were the absolute highlights of the episode, maybe even the season. Takina has come a long way since we first met her in episode one.
