Shachibato! President, It’s Time for Battle! (Episode 9) – Knight in Shining Armor

Makoto is determined to find Mineko and convince her to be his friend. Minato is on board with the plan and no one seems to want to upset Makoto. They even drag Rivar along with them since he caused this mess!
What happened?
Continuing from last week, the Kibou Company are exploring a dungeon in search of a rare maju that can talk. Makoto and Minato got separated and a mysterious girl showed them the way out. Of course, she was the maju and just as Makoto was starting a conversation with her, Rivar showed up and ruined everything. Makoto was worried about Mineko and believed that the Famnela herd was rejecting her because she was different. Minato agreed and so they all went to find her, however, they hadn’t planned on just how many Famnela there were. Luckily, Rivar is willing to cause a distraction!

What did you think?
Very little actually happened in this episode, but I was ultimately fine with that. Seeing Rivar chased by a herd of Famnela was worth the time alone and then at the end when they tried to make him their new queen, well, that was hilarious. I think Rivar was probably the best thing in this episode. Overall, it was pretty much what I would expect from this series which has been mostly average. It’s not going to wow anyone, but it’s a nice show to sit back and chill to. There is some mystery involved although I don’t have high hopes on fully realising the answers or it being that spectacular.

What have you learnt?
I’m not sure that there’s too much to take away from this episode. It was relaxing with some funny moments. Even though they were facing the Famnela Queen which is supposed to be difficult for anyone with a ranking below five stars, and the highest rank any of them hold is four stars, it never really felt like there was any danger. I don’t mind all the relaxed vibes that this show and others like it give off, but I don’t see why they can’t add just a little bit of tension into them. I know that’s just a personal choice though.
