Tamayomi: The Baseball Girls (Episode 7) – Night Sky After Rain
The draw for Nationals has been made and they’ve managed to secure a first-round match against another relatively unknown team, however, if they win that, they go up against the champions from two years ago!
Tamayomi: The Baseball Girls (Episode 7) – Night Sky After Rain
What happened?
While the captain and Yoshino went to the draw, the rest of the team stayed home and got some more training in. Then with the news of their opponents and potential next match, they had to further up the intensity. Yoshino attempted to spy on their opponents and get some more information for her game strategy. The team were then handed out their new match uniforms and Yomi reflected on how they all started on this journey from her just wanting to play catch with Tama again.
What did you think?
I hate to say it, but this series really is just background noise. It’s the sort of series you can just stick on and do other things. You only need to glance at the screen every so often to keep up with what’s going on and that’s even with little to no understanding of Japanese. It’s not a bad series, but it really doesn’t do anything to grab your attention. Yoshino appears to have found a weakness in the opponents from looking at their game times, but we’ll have to wait to see what that’s all about. It’s all just a bit pedestrian. I was expecting a bit of fire from this sports anime!
What have you learned?
This series is really lacking any sort of rivalry. Even with Hinomaru Sumo and Harukana Receives there was someone that they were trying to beat, even if they were friendly rivals or not. In Tamayomi, we’ve barely seen anything of the other teams. I know this is more of a slice of life/cute girls doing cute things sort of show but it really could benefit from a bit of energy. Even the characters themselves are all a bit subdued. I guess it’s fine for what it is, but I would have liked to see more intensity and action.

I agree, this series is just really easy to tune out of. Personally, there’s nothing striking about any of it, except for the art. I’m just here for the (occasionally) disproportionate character designs…
Haha! Yeah, the artwork is not good and all of their faces are almost identical. Otherwise, it’s easy as can be… would be nice to have a little action though…
