The Executioner and her Way of Life Title

Menou attempts to stop the girl who claims to be Pandaemonium. Could she really be a Pure Concept or just another demon? Either way, it’s not about to be an easy fight!

The Executioner and Her Way of Life (Episode 11) – Pandæmonium

What happened?

Pandaemonium claims to have existed before the fog prison was created. She had the name first and was once imprisoned by the Ivory Knight. Then the people started calling the fog Pandaemonium. Menou couldn’t work out if she was the Pure Concept or just a demon. If she was the concept how had she remained alive for so long? Pandaemonium was keen to get the fight going which she viewed as a movie. Since there were no movies in this world, she had to make her own.

Meanwhile, Akari visited with Momo and healed her even though she hated her and that they had not met in this timeline yet. Momo stirred and appeared to notice Akari, but she was still too weak to do anything. Menou continued to have trouble defeating Pandaemonium as she was able to resummon herself over and over again. At one point, it looked like Menou was going to be defeated but Ashuna jumped in at the last second. Menou continued to pretend she had never met Ashuna, which didn’t bother her.

Akari wanted to help them, but a version of Pandaemonium appeared before her and told her not to get involved. She revealed that she was but a finger of the true Pandaemonium and was only able to slip out because of the damage Akari had done to the world every time she changed it. She revealed that Akari’s power was insignificant in the grand scheme of things and that someone must be allowing her to do what she was doing. Before the fog could reclaim Pandaemonium she transformed into a monster in an attempt to take out Ashuna and Menou for good.

What did you think?

Annoyingly, the fight wasn’t nearly as exciting as I was hoping. However, the fact that it was Akari that allowed Pandaemonium to partially escape the fog was very interesting. I also liked how Pandaemonium kept telling Menou that she reminded her of the Ivory Knight. At the moment, all fingers are pointing at Flare. Could she be a Lost One who has taken it upon themselves to ensure that no one can become as powerful as her? Is Flare the Ivory Knight? It’s certainly looking that way.

I continue to enjoy the group dynamic where Akari loves Menou, but Menou is trying to kill Akari. Then Akari hates Momo who hates her back. Ashuna likes Momo, but the feelings are not returned. It’s so much more interesting than everyone getting along. I still think Menou might be a Lost One that has forgotten everything from using her Pure Concept. It would explain how she was found by Flare with no memory of anything.

There’s one episode left and there is no way that they will wrap everything up so I can only hope that there will be a second season because this has been a great series. It’s rare to find something so dark that isn’t just a standard murder game format. This world feels alive and incredibly dangerous, packed full of secrets and lies. There is obviously so much more than we’ve been allowed to see so far.
