Who is the Otaku Author?
Otaku (オタク) is a Japanese term for people with an obsessive interest, commonly associated with fans of anime and manga.
So, I guess this is where I introduce myself! It’s not nearly as flashy an entrance as I’d imagined, but it is what it is. My name is Lynn, although as the site would suggest, you can also refer to me as the Otaku Author.
This site is an amalgamation of two of my passions. Firstly, I love stories and always have. Whether that’s making them up, watching anime or films, or reading books or manga, it doesn’t really matter where I’m getting the story from, I just love it.
And secondly, I love anime and have done since I first saw Akira back in the nineteen-nineties on Channel 4. After seeing that, I’ve never looked back. There have been times where I’ve not seen as much as I would have liked, but I’m making up for that now.
As a result of this, I am almost always watching, reading, writing, or thinking about stories. I often analyse what I’m consuming and store little bits of information away in my head for me to use later when writing my own stories. Then, it occurred to me that I may be forgetting some of them and also that others might enjoy my thoughts and observations. Plus, I really like talking about anime and stories, so here we are.
I have written short stories and novellas, and have several novels in the works too. I’m sure I’ll mention them from time to time. I have been blogging for ten plus years across different sites and services and while I’m no expert, I’m open to answering whatever topics I can or at least trying.
So, thanks for stopping by and feel free to have a poke around, there’s bound to be something that catches your eye!
