What happened?

Ichigo worked in a food truck in the city where everyone had to wear masks all the time. She was alone most of the time and it was getting to her. So, when she heard about a hotel by the sea on a lesbian social network where you didn’t need to wear a mask, she was determined to go and meet someone new. Then, she discovered that the hotel was connected to a nudist beach and her thoughts ran away with themselves. Even if she didn’t get to meet anyone, she would be surrounded by naked women and that would be enough.

On the way there, her car broke down. Luckily, a passing car stopped and offered to help since they were going to the same place. She was stunning, but also the type to scare Ichigo so when Sena Takami asked if she was by herself or meeting someone there, Ichigo said she was meeting someone. After checking in, they both went to their rooms to wait for their clean test results. Once confirmed, they would be able to use the beach in the morning. Ichigo got the all-clear and made her way to the beach where she took off her mask, however, she kept her bikini on… at first. A beautiful naked woman approached Ichigo and offered to show her around. Her bikini made it apparent that it was her first time there. After they spotted a group of girls having sex, she explained how public sex was allowed on the beach and also that if she wore a hanky, it signalled that she was available.

The woman then told Ichigo that she wasn’t available, but gave her a hanky in case she needed it. Ichigo promptly stripped off, tied the hanky into her hair and ran into the sea. She relaxed on a lilo, drifting across the bay. However, she soon realised that she was drifting a little too far out and was about to panic when someone swam up to her and asked if she was all right. It was Sena, who still frightened Ichigo a little, even if she was kind and beautiful… and wearing a hanky. Sena was delighted to find out that Ichigo wasn’t already with someone and made her move.

What did you think?

Well, that was only sixty-four pages but I am feeling breathless after that… and a little hot heated! This was excellent and it sets a high bar since it’s my first ever doujinshi. I saw it advertised in one of the anime and manga site’s newsletters and was kind of curious. Then, I spotted again and decided that I would take the plunge. After all, I do like beach episodes and I am a big fan of Yuri stories so this seemed like a great place to start my doujinshi adventure.

I was impressed by how much story was squeezed into such a short book, especially considering most of the book was focused on Ichigo and Sena having sex. I was equally impressed by the artwork which was clean and crisp. I’ve seen regular manga that aren’t anywhere near as polished. Another thing that I wasn’t expecting was the size of the book which I actually really liked. It’s basically double the size of a regular manga.

Tying it into the pandemic made it that much more real. We’ve all lived through that and no doubt still bare the scars of that ordeal. So, seeing the joy on Ichigo’s face as she embraced a world away from social distancing and contactless everything is something I think most people can relate to. I also liked how this book ended with the potential for more, but it also felt like a satisfactory climax… I loved it and would definitely read more by Mira should the opportunity arise.
