I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss (Volume 1) – Avoid the Bad Ending at All Costs!

When her fiancé called off their engagement, Aileen felt like she’d seen it before. She recalled a different life, living in isolation with just a game for company. A game where she was the villain!
I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss (Volume 1) – Avoid the Bad Ending at All Costs!
What happened?
He was the prince and he was cancelling their engagement, but she couldn’t help but feel uninterested in the situation. She certainly didn’t want them to have the upper hand, so she left without saying too much. However, the memories came coming back to her. This was an event that set her on a path to destruction. But, she wasn’t going to accept that fate so she decided to use the memories she had to build a better life for herself. All she had to do was get the Demon Lord to marry her since he was the one who killed her in every path.
The Demon Lord, Claude Jeanne Elmir wasn’t the least bit interested in Aileen’s request and after some fairly unusual discussions, he sent her home, literally. With magic! There she had to face her father, the prime minister who told her that she would need to earn back the losses the family suffered or be disowned. However, the Prince and his new fiance, Lilia had acquired her business and were in the process of changing everything. How would Aileen change her fate and how would she persuade the Demon Lord to help her? After all, he’s the one that kills her.

What did you think?
At first, I wasn’t sure if this series was going to be that interesting. It’s another isekai otome game format, but this time she’s Isekaied as the villain, or rather a love interest that ultimately loses to the hero. Then, we met the moody Demon Lord and I was starting to lose interest. However, his two assistants were kind of entertaining and then Aileen started to grow on me. Slowly but surely, this series was growing on me. There was actually a lot to like as Aileen turned out to be a woman of the people who cared for the common folk and was trying to make their lives better by creating work and helping them build their own lives.
Of course, the Prince undid all that. It was starting to look like he was actually the villain in the story. Well, that was until the very last panel in the book. Get ready for a spoiler… Lilia is the villain. It would appear that she caused the Prince to leave Aileen and she was the one behind Aileen’s downfall. How does this relate to the otome game that Aileen was playing in her past life? Well, her memories are fuzzy and we don’t know if she actually finished the game as she died at a young age. My interest in this story went from “whatever” to “holy crap, I need to know what happens next”. So, give it time. This one is worth the investment, in my opinion.

I loved this as an anime. The demon lord made my heart swoon LOL! I loved the fact he wanted to make her cry.
Oooo! I didn’t realise there was already an anime! Will have to check it out.
I read the manga before watching the anime, and they are both so good! Aileen is such a funny and likable character. I think the art was better in the manga, but the voice acting in the anime really brought the characters to life.
Stop! My to-watch list is already out of control!!! lol!
