Author Journey (April 1, 2024)

One of these days, I’m going to start remembering when the public holidays fall. On top of that, something got into my head that ate away at me for most of the week, and probably will do for a while to come!

Favourite Moment!
When I say something got into my head, I mean it took over most of my thought process for most of the week. As such, it’s hard to come up with a favourite moment. My goal at the beginning of the year was to keep these posts light and I’m planning on sticking to that so I’m not going to get into it just yet. Maybe in the future, I’ll have been able to process what I’m thinking and will want to talk, but right now, I need to try to put it out of my mind. So, let’s talk about the end of the Winter 2024 anime season instead. There were some amazing shows and I’ve still got a few more to catch up on before I dive into the Spring schedule.

Writing!
But first, writing… This was not the week for writing. Maybe, I’ll try again this week.
Anime!
I’ve always used stories to escape from the real world and anime has been my go to source for a while now, so it was an easy choice to dive in head first. Plus, the Winter 2024 season has mostly finished which means it’s time to catch up. I finished The Unwanted Undead Adventurer, Tales of Wedding Rings, and Gushing Over Magical Girls. Not to mention the season finale of Solo Leveling.

Manga!
Manga is another great place for me to escape to. Thanks to my phone and the Hoopla app I’m able to do it anywhere, no matter how inappropriate it might be to be ready about angry warriors fighting demons with naked and semi-naked women. I’m talking about Berserk, of course. Anyhow, I managed to read two volumes which is fine.

Aspirations for the week!
With the week I had, I’m more determined than ever to get this series written, so my big focus is to carve up more time for that. I’ve also got to get my exercise going again. The new anime season starts now, but thanks to the way I’m planning on watching it, I’ve got four weeks before anything is ready for me. That’ll give me plenty of time to get my life in order and catch up on some shows from the season that just finished.
Hopefully, I’ll be in a more settled mood. Of course, I don’t think anything will be resolved this week, but I’m doing my best to work out how I can change things for the better. Sorry for being so cryptic, but I’m still working things out myself. Anyhow, thanks for reading.

I, too, have to buckle down on my exercising. I had a friend come to visit this past weekend, and that gave me an excuse to not go to the gym. Now, whatever momentum I had is back at zero LOL. Tomorrow is a new day, as they say. Whatever ails you, I hope a positive resolution is coming your way!
Yeah, it’s too easy to let things slip. You’re busy one day so you give it a pass and before you know it, it’s been a week.
Thanks. I’m sure I’ll get it sorted. I just need some time to get everything aligned. I think I need to take a more holistic approach to things.
“Maybe, I’ll try again this week.”
Maybe? This sounds serious. I hope things work out. In the best detente possible post “knowing the terror of what this world is about” sort of way.
And apologies if that’s presumptuous. None of us really understand what it is to be another. Best I can figure is to make a note that the path has a lot of tracks on it. Which is kind of reassuring, as far as it goes.
It’s probably nowhere near as bad as you might be imagining. There are loads of people with far worse so I might be being a little melodramatic. However, it’s something I’m going to have to get used to and I think that’s going to take a little bit of time and effort. It does make me want to get on with my writing as soon as my head is in the right place. Thanks for the concern.
