Yoshida came home to find Sayu had gone. He ran into the night searching for her, however, when he found her she was with Mishima… Well, this was awkward, but at least, she was safe. However, it would appear that they need to talk.

What happened?

As usual, Sayu had spent the day at home cleaning and preparing things for when Yoshida came home from work. It gave her a lot of time to think. Probably too much time. Everywhere she had stayed before here the guys had taken advantage of her. It got to the point that she expected it since they were going out of their way to give her somewhere to stay. So why hadn’t Yoshida done the same? Was there something wrong with her? She tried to bury that idea as things were too good to screw it up by worrying about stuff like that. Then, she got a message from Yoshida telling her he’d be home late as he was going to a movie with a colleague.

That was fine. Wasn’t it? Sayu started to get concerned. What if Yoshida got a girlfriend? She would have to leave and that would be horrible. The thought of them having sex plagued Sayu’s mind. Was she getting jealous? To shake off that feeling she decided to meet Yoshida outside the cinema, but then she saw him being hugged by another woman. She panicked and ran. She wanted to go home and pretend as if nothing happened, but that seemed wrong. Then, she bumped into a woman at the train station… It was the one that had just hugged Yoshida.

The woman offered to sit with Sayu until she worked out what she wanted to do. They talked about their respective issues, however, Sayu quickly realised they were both talking about Yoshida. Then, just as Sayu had decided to go back to Yoshida’s house, he came running onto the train station, looking for her. Mishima was confused. Yoshida was horrified when he saw her and swore to tell her everything at work. This was going to take some explaining, but first, he needed to have a talk with Sayu.

What did you think?

This story just gets better and better. I loved the first couple of chapters of this book where we got a glimpse into Sayu and Mishima’s minds. The scene where Sayu and Mishima met at the train station was excellent. It was all predictably obvious as to what was going to happen, but it was done in such a way that I couldn’t care less about being able to predict it. I loved the way it started with Sayu recognising Mishima and ended with Mishima recognising Yoshida and then working out that they had both been talking about him. It was compelling reading.

Well, I think we can call off my crazy theory from the first book where I wondered if Sayu may even be real. Mishima has confirmed her existence and then we also have Asami who is going to storm into Yoshida’s life like a hurricane. I’m equal parts nervous and excited to see how that goes. My gut feeling is that she will like him… and by that, I mean “like” him. Anyhow, I am loving this series. Keep them coming!
