Author Journey (July 1, 2024)
Well, looks like I forgot that there was a public holiday again! It’s strange how my views of them have changed over time. I used to love them and would count down the days until the next one, now, they break my routine…
Author Journey (July 1, 2024)
Favourite Moment!
I think my views on public holidays are partly down to the fact that if I take time off work, no one does the work while I’m away so I just have to catch up when I get back. In my previous jobs from when I was younger, it was just another day off and there were no repercussions. I’m also much more focused on this site and writing so anything that interrupts my routine is hard to handle. I also tend to forget them as this is the third country I’ve lived in and they all have different ones. Anyhow, that’s not my favourite moment of the last week…
I have been killing it with my work this last week and have made some huge strides towards being able to disappear for most of July without consequence. I’m still going to need every second I can get this week, but I’m almost there. One thing that I am planning for July is an in-depth look at my favourite anime and each post is double the length of a regular episode review so it’s taking me longer to write them, but I’m very happy with how they are looking. I’ve got a few more to write up, but I’m confident that I can finish in time… maybe… hopefully!!!
Writing!
I did no writing once more, but that was the plan. I’m completely focused on blog posts and preparing the day job for my absence. However, I am looking forward to being able to spend a bit of time reading through some of my first drafts and preparing myself mentally to come back and pick those up again. I’ve got way too many partially completed projects and I want to change that. Scratch that, I need to change that.
Anime!
I didn’t have any more shows from the Winter 2024 schedule to catch up on and while I am revisiting some of the seasons I put on hold over the years, my focus has been on my favourite series as I prepare a bunch of posts to fill the time while I’m away. That said, I did watch seventeen episodes, so it’s all good.
Winter 2024
Spring 2024
- That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
- Mushoku Tensei II: Jobless Reincarnation
- KonoSuba: God’s blessing on this wonderful world!
Manga!
I read one volume for reviewing and one for pleasure this week, and that was all I needed to do. I’ve now completed all of my manga reviews for July and several more into August. That’s an awesome feeling and something I’m going to build on when I’m back. I always used to have a buffer and this makes things a lot more relaxed.

Aspirations for the week!
I finished all my manga reviews including two series reviews. I’ve watched the final episodes of season two of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, so I just need to review that and put together a review of season two, part two. After that, I’m completely focused on finishing off the posts for my favourite series (I’m sure I don’t need to remind you what it is!). So, I have a total of ten anime posts to write up and then, I’m completely ready. That’s two a day, which isn’t that bad. I do have some things to sort out for the day job too, but it’s all looking very manageable at the moment.
Once that’s done, I am going to get the drafts set up for all my Author Journey posts while I’m away so that I can just fill in the text when appropriate. They will be shorter in nature and less focused on the day-to-day grind. Hopefully, I’ll find some cool things to talk about from re-reading my first drafts. I’m also going to have more time to draw so I’ll be sure to share what I can there too. I’ll likely write up the next Author Journey on Friday night and schedule it for Monday as things will be very busy between those days.
Well, public holiday aside, I’ve got loads to get on with and the more I can get done early the easier it’s going to get. I’ve got to hustle! Thanks for reading.
