Bastard‼ Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy (Episode 2) – Rampage

Bastard‼ Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy (Episode 2) – Rampage
What happened?
Yoko is reluctant to summon Dark Schneider again. Firstly, it’s really embarrassing because she has to kiss Lucien to make it work, and secondly, she’s not sure they can really trust him. However, the council and the King are resolute. Dark Schneider must be summoned. Even Yoko’s father, Geo tells her to perform the ritual. So, she does. This time, things go how she expected, especially with Geo there. Dark Schneider hates Geo for imprisoning him inside Lucien and is ready to get his revenge. However, Geo is skilled in holy magic which means that Dark Schneider can’t touch him with magic. In a hand-to-hand fight, Geo has the clear advantage. That doesn’t mean Dark Schneider is going to give up though.
Knowing that one of his golems is hidden beneath the castle, Dark Schneider activates it and calls upon it to destroy Geo. Before it can, the hydra bursts into the throne room and inadvertently brings Dark Schneider into the fight. He has his golem crush the hydra and then quickly defeats the hydra’s master with Venom. With that taken care of he returns his attention to Geo. However, Yoko demands he stop and questions if he really is Lucien. Dark Schneider tells her that he is Lucien and Dark Schneider. They feel the same things. They love the same things. Then, he kisses her and returns to his Lucien form.
What did you think?
After watching this episode, I still hadn’t decided to review it episodically. I enjoyed it, but it was pretty much the same as the first episode. But then, the ending credits rolled and I realised that I have to get my thoughts down on this series. I think it was the final piece of the puzzle that’s been blocking my own writing. This series made me remember why I was writing my story and where I had gone wrong since. Originally, I wrote it as a series of novellas. They were all fast-paced and action-packed. I then tried to turn them into longer books in the epic fantasy style. When I saw the end credits, it hit me. I need to go back to the original style. My style is heavy metal, dark fantasy.
So, yeah. I had a massive breakthrough at the end of the episode and it felt great. The episode itself wasn’t that special. Like I said, it was almost the same as the first episode. However, I’m tied in now so I can only hope that it doesn’t continue in that manner and I’m fairly confident that it won’t. Given all the marked women falling through the air in the ending credits, I’m certain that there is a lot to look forward to. I’d like to take this moment to thank Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy for showing me where I was going wrong and allowing me to embrace my story as it was meant to be.
