Bastard‼ Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy (Episode 4) – Invasion
What happened?
Not long after spying Gara’s fortress, they are attacked by ninjas. Sheila tries to join the fight but just ends up hitting her own men with her sword. Luckily, Dark Schneider was around to kill them all with magic missiles that never miss. They’ll need to hurry as Gara has Yoko chained up in a pit and he’s just released a slime into it… a slime that eats fabric! After telling Sheila to remove her armour and ditch her sword, Dark Schneider decides the best way in is to blow open the gates. Surprisingly, the ninjas don’t instantly attack.
Gara, who is still enjoying watching the slime eat away at Yoko’s clothing isn’t worried. He has a labyrinth in his basement and Dark Schneider will need to fight his way through it before he can even stand against him. It’s not just an ordinary labyrinth either. Well, there is a minotaur, but there’s more than that. After carrying Sheila up a ladder, they come across a creature from Anthax’s realm and it’s highly resistant to magic. Surprisingly, Sheila makes the breakthrough catching it off guard with a club to its back. It lowers its shields and Dark Schneider obliterates it.
After carrying Sheila on his shoulders once more, and occasionally nibbling on her thigh, they enter another area. Sheila, now walking beside him spots a sword and picks it up. Unfortunately, it’s a cursed sword and she instantly attacks Dark Schneider. Its blade was laced with poison and now she needs to suck it out of his wound before he dies. No sooner has she finished as the demon Efreet awakens and threatens to kill them.

What did you think?
I am dying. This episode was so funny, and so metal! Sheila looked really good in her armour, but her short dress-type thing was also very entertaining, especially when Dark Schneider was carrying her around. I’m not sure why he kept nibbling on her thigh, but I also don’t blame him for doing it. I also had a laugh at Yoko and the slime that seemed to have eyeballs in rather inopportune locations that always seemed to be looking the wrong way… Anyhow, it’s nice to see an old friend in the form of Issei Hyoudou‘s potential familiar. Also, wasn’t that slime in How Not to Summon a Demon Lord? Great work if you can get it, I suppose!
The previous episodes have been fun, but this was the most outrageous so far, culminating in the moment that we watched Sheila sucking poison from Dark Schneider’s wound. Him telling her to suck harder didn’t make it any less suggestive. And, of course, poor Yoko is now standing in a pit with no clothes and an army of ninjas standing around. It’s just so brilliantly ridiculous that I can’t get enough. If they could just make the fights a little more entertaining then this would be outstanding. Maybe we’ll get to see something better when Dark Schneider comes up against Gara.
