The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent (Volume 2) – An Enchanted Touch

Having mastered potions and the Winter Knight… Sei now turns her attention to enchantments. I mean how hard can it be to create magic items that can provide status benefits and immunities?
The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent (Volume 2) – An Enchanted Touch
What happened?
Albert Hawke, the Winter Knight had agreed to take Sei to the market with him to thank her for all her help with the healing potions. Many of his men wouldn’t have survived without them. Sei was delighted to get to go out and see more of the kingdom and spend a little more time with Albert. They browsed the markets and ate from the food stalls. Albert even used magic to create some ice cubes for Sei’s drink. Finally, they went into a shop that specialised in accessories. Albert stepped out back while Sei admired a hair slider.
On the way home, Sei fell asleep in the carriage and woke up with her head resting on Albert’s shoulder. She was mortified, but he didn’t seem to mind. Before leaving he gave her a box, a memento of their day together. When she opened it, Sei was shocked to see the hair slider she had been looking at but with jewels the same colour as Albert’s eyes. She later learnt that the jewels were enchanted and provided some status boosts. Of course, Sei wanted to learn more about Enchantment so Jude arranged for her to visit with the mages.
The first stone Sei tried to enchant shattered in her hands. Had she done something wrong? The deputy head magician examined the stone and then handed Sei a larger one. He told her to try it again and this time it worked. He was amazed and handed her a variety of stones and asked her to imbue them with certain properties. She managed to do them all with ease. As a reward for her efforts, he allowed her to keep the first one she made, which she had put on a necklace and gave it to Albert Hawke.

What did you think?
There was a point in this volume where Johan was asking Sei about her date with Albert. She was stunned to think it might be a date, but the more she thought about it the more it became apparent. Anyhow, Johan said something that perfectly sums up this series – “Well, that’s very wholesome.” This series is fantastic. It’s so warm and comforting. I love the way Sei is constantly surrounded by muscular, good-looking men who are all polite and well-mannered and she doesn’t know what to do with herself.
Seriously, I don’t think there has been one character that could be considered average looking. It’s like she’s been summoned to a world populated by male models. Anyhow, I’m also loving how Sei is slowly working things out for herself. There have been no sudden jumps in power that she hasn’t earnt herself. She’s studying and experimenting. She’s experiencing the world and learning from it. It helps that she has such insane stats, but she’s absolutely making the most of them.
I’ve had the anime on my to-watch list since it aired and the more I read of the manga, the higher up my list it goes. This is not your average isekai, which is great. The more variety we can have in the genre the better for everyone.
