Karen is concerned that she might be gaining a little extra weight so she takes Pochita to the dog pool where they can swim and exercise. Mike comes with her unaware that it’s a “dog” pool!

What happened?

Karen is shocked by her weight gain and decides to take Pochita to the pool. Mike tagged along before realising it was a dog pool and that there would be lots of dogs. She decided to sit out of the pool and spent most of her time dodging dogs. Pochita, of course, had no experience swimming as a dog and quickly sank to the bottom. Luckily, Karen and Mike pulled him out before he drowned, although it was close. After that excitement, it was time to do some exercises on the side of the pool. Mike started with some situps and Karen tried to join in. She wasn’t too good at it, but once Pochita put his paws on her feet, she seemed to get it. Pochita had the same impact when she tried to do some squats.

Karen took Pochita back into the pool while Mike was busy running from a dog. However, she ran straight into the pool and landed on top of Karen. When they emerged from beneath the water, their bikini tops had been washed away. Karen didn’t seem too bothered although Mike frantically searched for her top. They found it, but there was no sight of Karen’s bikini. Then, she noticed Pochita swimming across the pool with her bikini in his mouth. What a good boy! Back home, Karen was delighted to see that she had lost a little of that excess weight that was troubling her.

What did you think?

Well, I guess we are just going to have to accept that Pochita is a dog now, complete with shortened lifespan and he seemingly doesn’t care about the worry he may be putting his parents through. Anyhow, this was a fun if extremely silly episode. But then, they’ve all been pretty silly. There’s not a great deal to comment on really other than I think a dog pool is a great idea. Those would be incredibly popular with most dogs, although my dog will only swim in lakes.

Ironically, this episode felt more like what I was expecting from the show. Lots of low-angled shots of the girls doing whatever without all the strange dog-loving moments. Of course, the story was as basic as they come, but it served its purpose. There is another OVA and I can only hope that it ends with Pochita returning to his human form. I think we’ve reached the end of this joke and now, I’d like to see it resolved in a satisfactory manner. And, with some boobs if we have to…
