My Life as Inukai-san’s Dog (Episode 10) – Pochita
What happened?
There’s nowhere to hide from the dogs when you smell like hot dogs. Mike runs before she can think and ends up dragging Pochita along with her. He climbs up and bites her ears to direct her to the pool where they both fall in. It washes the glue and hot dog smell off them. The dogs quickly lose interest and wander off again. Karen finds Mike and Pochita and is jealous that they were spending time together again. After getting Mike dry they head back to the classroom where Karen looks at her paper chain and is unimpressed. Pochita finds some paint and puts paw prints on it, much to the excitement of the class.
Mike is pleased to see that Pochita is getting Karen involved with other people once more, but that is short-lived as Usage shows up in a bunny suit and tells them that her class is running a bunny cafe. Karen gets annoyed when she sees Pochita looking at Usagi. Of course, Usagi is delighted and challenges Karen to see which class makes the most money at the festival. If her class wins she can have Pochita for a day, but if Karen’s class wins, she’ll leave Pochita alone!

What did you think?
For a while, I was pretty certain that Usagi was the best girl in this series, but now, I believe it’s Mike. The way that she has pretty much figured out Pochita and is so focused on getting Karen to return to normal is admirable. She also doesn’t have any strange fetishes, unlike Karen and Usagi. Sure, she falls over and knocks herself out far too often but that’s small bananas in comparison.
I am not a big fan of the idea of Pochita staying a dog, and I’ve said it a few times now, but this show seems to want to push that agenda. It seems ridiculous that a person would choose to be a dog with a far shorter lifespan just because a girl can’t get over the loss of her first dog. That’s crazy! I also said that I was worried the Karen versus Usagi side story would get in the way of a resolution and now it looks like that will take up the next episode. Hopefully, it won’t drag over into the final episode as there is much to resolve.
