If you want to succeed at anything, you need to be flexible. You never know what life is going to throw at you, so you need to be prepared to pivot when necessary. Flexibility when it comes to the body is also pretty handy!

This last week was the beginning of me rejoining the seasonal anime schedule and it was a good week, although it didn’t really go to plan. I originally planned on reviewing season two of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, World’s End Harem, and The Faraway Paladin. It was a good plan. All looked like they would be worth my time. Then, I hit my first roadblock.
World’s End Harem and The Faraway Paladin aired at the end of the week which messed with my schedule. I was willing to move some of my other posts but that didn’t really work. Basically, I didn’t want to get into a situation where I was rushed to complete the reviews. I wanted a couple of days of turnaround time, not one evening. Then something else popped up.
I saw a Twitter discussion between Crow of Crow’s World of Anime and Zeke of the WLNM podcast raving about Tact Op. Destiny. Now, I’m not normally someone to jump on hype, but they were pretty excited and it aired on a day earlier in the week which was more accommodating to my schedule. So, I watched it, loved it, and started to review it. That enabled me to do World’s End Harem on Sundays and The Faraway Paladin would be a bonus series to cover. But, the anime schedule was not done with me yet!
On the day World’s End Harem was due to air, it was pulled and delayed until January. I was gutted. However, that left Sunday open. Could I do The Faraway Paladin with so little time between the airing and my post schedule? Possibly, but I wasn’t prepared to add the extra pressure. So, I looked at my to-watch list and picked the first one that spoke to me. That was The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat.
The ironic thing about all this was that The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat was my favourite of the three. I still love Mushoku Tensei, but the first episode of Anatsu Kisoku (the short nickname of The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat) was incredible. Everything about it resonated with me.
I may still do The Faraway Paladin, although I may also let it run for a while and then binge it nearer the end. We’ll have to wait and see. I am pretty flexible when it comes to this sort of thing after all…
I mentioned last week about rewatching That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and can now say that I have finished the first season and enjoyed it far more than the first time. I have some theories as to why that was and have put all of that in the posts. In other news, I may have scheduled two posts for March 2022. I know, I need help…
I managed to increase the amount of editing although it still fell a little short of what I was hoping. It’s all progress though and things are moving in the right direction. This last week, I edited fifteen chapters which was a total of 19,155 words. That means I have gone through the first thirty-thousand words of the novel and that’s great.
I had originally planned on starting the next book for NaNoWriMo, but maybe it’s serendipitous for me to finish the one I started last November. Admittedly, a year is way longer than I had planned and I don’t think it’ll take me that long again, but it does seem somewhat poetic. There are another twenty-three thousand words to edit and then I will write the final act. My goal for this week then will be to get through those edits.
It is a short week with today being Thanksgiving in Canada so that will impact things, but I have the momentum. I’ve just got to keep at it and not let the wave get away from me. So, the blogging is going very well (seriously, I scheduled two posts for March 2022) and the writing/editing is picking up too. Well, I”ve got turkey to eat, so thanks for reading, stay safe, and don’t forget to backup your work.
