I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tired! Playing catch-up until 03:00 each day is a lot of work. However, it looks like things are about to change. There is light at the end of the tunnel…

Hot Topic

I don’t even remember how long it’s been since the nanny ghosted us as I’ve been awake continuously since then and every day and night have merged into one long block of time. I’d stopped covering seasonal shows just before it happened in the hopes of restarting my writing, but that too had to take a step back as there just wasn’t enough time to do everything and look after my youngest son.

Well, things are looking up. At the end of last week, we went to look at a daycare that our neighbours use for their youngest child, who is the same age as ours. It’s close to our house and he will already have a friend there. Today will be his first day so hopefully, all goes well and I can start sleeping again. I don’t think we would have done it if it wasn’t for the existing friend situation so this was a win-win. I can’t wait to get back to writing, too.

What have I been watching/reading?

Last week, I mentioned how I was upping my manga consumption and had reserved my next series from my library. Well, that series is Rosario+Vampire. It has two seasons, totalling twenty-two volumes, however, my library only has twenty-one. At first, I thought it would be like Magical Girl Apocalypse where the last volume wouldn’t be available yet, but this series started in 2007. It turned out that volume nine was the one missing. I asked the library if they were going to order a replacement since they had an incomplete series and they said no.

I decided to turn to the internet and searched the usual places to buy a copy. No one had it. They had some volumes, but no one had volume nine. Then, I found a place. It’s a manga shop in Montreal of all places and they had a copy in English. Anyhow, I ordered it and now I wait. Luckily, I have eight other volumes to read in the meanwhile.

• Magical Girl Apocalypse

Yomu is back and ready to get things going again with Fire Force, however, with my schedule, I’ve been unable to pick it up again. That’ll change soon though.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood was insane. It revealed a lot but still somehow managed to keep so many answers tucked away for another time. This series is apparently as good as the hype makes it out to be!

And then there was the last of the episode posts for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. I can’t believe it’s all over again, but they have announced a movie and my second season review will go live tomorrow.

Volume three of Magical Girl Apocalypse was amazing and showed us a little more of the scale of this story. Did somebody say time travel?

Work in Progress

Last week was the same as the previous weeks in that I was focused mostly on walking through the scenes in my head. My lack of time played into that decision, but it’s something I do anyway. When I was in my most productive writing phase where I was easily writing more the fifteen thousand words a week, I would lie in bed going through the next scene in my head. That way, I would be ready to just let it all pour out of me in the morning.

Hopefully, I’ll get myself back to that in the near future. I have so many stories that I want to write that I need to get on with it. My goal was originally to start releasing this year, but I think with everything that’s happened, I’m going to focus the rest of the year on getting as much work done as possible so I can start releasing in 2023. If I’m flying, I’ll push some forward, but it’s better to take my time and do it right that just publish for the sake of it.

The Plan

So the second season review of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is going to be published tomorrow. That means next week there will be a completely new series. I had originally planned on another series to follow it, but then I watched a different series on a whim and had to push it forward. I’ve not seen it covered anywhere so this should be interesting.

I’ve also been working on yet more future posts, although this time for quarter three and not four. I’ve still got lots to do, but it’s far more manageable than trying to keep up with several seasonal shows as well.

I’m still enjoying the freedom that this release schedule has given me. My website can keep ticking over and I can catch up on shows that I’ve missed in a more efficient manner. Plus, I love a good binge.

Final Thoughts

It’s been a tough couple of weeks, but I feel like things should get easier now… at least for a little while. The universe hasn’t been particularly kind to me whenever I put down any sort of expectations, so I going to take a chilled approach. I want to write loads of words, but will be happy with whatever I get. I can always build on it. I just need to get this ball rolling. Anyhow, thanks for reading and stay safe.
