I’m still in the middle of working out how the changes will happen, which includes a surprise offer from my employer. That might make things interesting. Anyhow, productivity is still at an all-time low… for now!

Favourite Moment!

Last week, I talked about taking a career break and I also had a meeting with my manager about the situation. He spoke to his manager and then they came back with a surprising offer. Basically, they don’t want me to go so they are prepared to effectively keep me on as a part-timer/contract worker. We’re still working out the details, but I think it will mean I end up working through the busy reporting week and then I leave until the next period. It will keep me working and still give me more than enough time to get the household to a better place. Sure, I was looking forward to doing that full-time, but this has its benefits too. It’s also good to know that they don’t think they could easily replace me.

Another fun thing that happened last week was that I opened an account on BlueSky. Twitter accounts for such a small amount of traffic that the only reason to put any time there was if I was enjoying it. For a while now, I’ve been training the main feed to just give me anime pictures, however, it insists on cramming political posts down my throat. Most of the posts themselves aren’t necessarily bad, however, the comments that follow really highlight the worst in humanity. A small army of blue-check empowered idiots with the empathy of a rock flood every post with asinine comments. So, I’m going to BlueSky to see if things are better. If you’re on BlueSky and want to connect my handle is @otakuauthor.bsky.social.

The Week That Was…

I hope I can get things sorted out soon because I’m going to run out of posts if I don’t. Last week, I managed to read one manga volume and watch one episode of anime. That is clearly not enough to maintain my mental health. Luckily things kind of settled on Friday so I have some hope that this coming week will be a bit calmer. Of course, that’ll also include making the preparations for my new schedule which will either start this week or the next. It’s going to be interesting so I’m sure that I’ll have more to say about it over the next few months.

My running has come to a complete standstill of late. I either haven’t had the time or the energy after trying to keep up with everything to even consider going for a run. That is also not good for my health, mental or physical. It also means I haven’t been able to finish the second season of Komi Can’t Communicate. In fact, the only episode of anime that I watched was part of my rewatch of Why the hell are you here, Teacher!? where the episodes are only twelve minutes long.

At present, I have five out of ten posts for this week scheduled and only two for the following week. I’ve got to find some time to catch up.

Aspirations for the week!

In theory, I should be able to catch up with this week’s posts pretty quickly, but that is dependent on there being no surprises for a couple of days. Given my recent track record, that seems like wishful thinking, but at the moment, that’s all I’ve got. Hopefully, once I’ve got the work situation sorted out and have been able to stamp my authority on the daily routines at home, things should calm down a little. Of course, I’m not expecting it to be easy. In fact, I’m expecting to have to work harder than I have in ages, but it should also mean that I end up with more time to do the things that I want to do too.

Anyhow, I had better get to work! There’s a lot I need to get on with. As always, thanks for reading!
