What happened?

Iris the Chaste already has an assistant, Alga and she doesn’t want to share. However, Iris seems to relish the idea of having two girls to boss around. Lillion’s first interaction with her was to see her force Alga to clean her feet with her tongue and even suggested that Lillion join in. Soon after, Iris drew a mark on Lillion’s stomach that made it clear who she belonged to. Little did she know that Iris would use that to control her completely. Anyhow, there was something more pressing. Iris needed a ballgown for an important event – she was going to audition to become one of the Lady of the Moon’s personal group of prostitutes.

Lillion hurried away and with the help of Precarie, Lapis Rufus, and Alsea, they put together three designs that basically resemble school uniforms and a maid costume, but since this world has not seen any of them, they are well received… well, by Pracarie, Lapis, Rufus, and Alsea, however, after some drinking they decide they’d rather see Lillion nude, so she does an impromptu strip tease. Sadly, Lillion is much of a dancer… So, when Lillion presents the dress to Iris, she is shocked to see that she hates it and demands that Alga burn it and the one that she made. There must be more to this.

Lillion visits the madam and asks about her earnings. She manages to find out what Iris earns too and discovers the real issue. Iris has no money so she can’t afford to buy a dress. With that in mind, Lillion and Alsea put on a show for their patrons in order to collect tips and present money instead of a dress to Iris. Iris is delighted, but Alga asks for a chance to earn as much. Iris agrees, however, Alga has never taken a client. Precarie makes Lillion invisible so that she can investigate. After discovering Alga’s secret she offers to help her too. Maybe, they can all win.

What did you think?

I’m still enjoying the political machinations of this series. It’s nice that we have an isekai where the main character is using their knowledge from their previous life to succeed. Who says prostitution isn’t like politics? If anything, this series shows that they are a perfect marriage. For me, that continues to make me laugh, especially given how seriously this story sticks to that format. Obviously, the Yuri brothel side of things is incredibly entertaining too and I loved how Lillion and Alsea created the concept of a tipping show to raise money.

It was also nice to see that Alga wasn’t just a spiteful person and that she had been working with her own issues. She even saved Lillion’s dress which Iris demanded be destroyed. I also can’t wait until Lillion has complete control over her Flame ability and it’s going to be interesting to see what she does with it now that the Lady of the Moon is under her spell, especially considering that she was the one who wanted Lillion executed. The other big question is where is Lillion’s real consciousness. Precarie mentioned in the last volume that she split it from her body when they were about to execute her, but we still don’t know where it went.

Thankfully, I’ve preordered the next two volumes so those answers should be forthcoming. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m enjoying myself so that’s all that matters.
