Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android? (Volume 4) – Adieu, Android!
What happened?
Jun was really drunk. Too drunk to walk home and too afraid of vomiting in a taxi so Tsuda took her to the nearest hotel to rest, which also happened to be a love hotel. And, to make matters worse, the bed had a giant heart-shaped headboard. Of course, Tsuda was still worrying about the message that she got from Nadeshiko. Where does an android go when they are going home and how did she message her since she didn’t have a cell phone? Something didn’t feel right to Tsuda. Then, Jun asked Tsuda to help undress her since she didn’t want to ruin her favourite outfit. That left Tsuda thinking about the time Nadeshiko undressed her in a love hotel. Of course, she wasn’t planning on doing the other things Nadeshiko did to her then!
However, Jun then revealed that she loved Tsuda and wanted her all to herself. Then, she asked why Tsuda could do all those things with Nadeshiko but not with her. Tsuda told her that she valued her too much to do those things to her, but that just made it worse. Jun didn’t want to be seen as a previous family member to Tsuda. She lost her temper and called her a dummy. Then, someone else followed up with a series of names, all harsher than dummy. They both turned to the TV where Nadeshiko’s face had appeared. It looked like Nadeshiko but didn’t speak like her. Anyhow, she told Tsuda to come get her and gave an address. Tsuda apologised to Jun because she needed to go to Nadeshiko, which was fine because Jun wanted to be alone.
Tsuda found Nadeshiko in a room with a banner hanging above a bed that said “Room you can’t leave until you have sex!” which was fairly concerning. Then, the door locked shut behind her, trapping them both inside. Nadeshiko revealed that the lock wouldn’t open until they had sex which also meant that Tsuda would need to finally register as Nadeshiko’s owner. Tsuda was confused by everything that was going on, but mostly by Nadeshiko’s actions. What did she really want from Tsuda? Nadeshiko told her that she loved her, which was a surprise. Tsuda tried to think of a way to respond when another voice interrupted them. It was Nadeshiko’s mother and she had left her mic on by mistake. Guess it’s time to reveal all!

What did you think?
Firstly, I really enjoyed this volume, however, there were some troubling aspects. I didn’t like the way Jun was pushing Tsuda, especially when she said that if Tsuda could do those things with Nadeshiko, then why couldn’t she do them with her? That implies that they are in the same kind of relationship which they obviously aren’t and I don’t think Tsuda has done anything to imply that they could be. Even with Nadeshiko being an android, I feel like this is incredibly pushy from Jun and outright disrespectful to both Nadeshiko and Tsuda. I do feel sorry for Jun and understand her actions, but this was too far for me.
I’m also a little concerned about Nadeshiko’s mother’s intent to create a baby between Tsuda and Nadeshiko without their consent. I hope that at some point, Nadeshiko pushes away from her mother so that they can develop their relationship in a more natural way… Well, as natural as a relationship between a human and an android can be! Otherwise, this was another fun volume with some great scenes. I particularly enjoyed the one where they watched the playback of one of the sex sessions on the TV as a date night! The karaoke date night was also inspired where they each tried to sing a song uninterrupted while the other tried to excite them enough to stop. Lots of fun. Of course, the revelation about the baby plan should ensure that the next volume has lots to talk about. I can’t wait!

What was your highlight?
For this section, I’m actually going to talk about something that I find incredibly annoying. I know, not necessarily a highlight, but it’s something I think I should highlight. After Tsuda found out about Nadeshiko’s mother/developer, Sakurako it was the perfect chance to get everything out in the open. For example, I’m sure Tsuda is wondering why her. She was drunk when she ordered Nadeshiko and then the website disappeared. Sakurako had also revealed that registering as Nadeshiko’s master would activate a baby maker inside her, mixing Tsuda’s human DNA with Nadeshiko’s artificial DNA to create a baby. That should raise so many questions for Tsuda.
Tsuda even says that she has questions. Sakurako follows that up by saying that since everything is out in the open now, she has all the answers and is apparently ready to reveal all. That’s when Tsuda notices that Nadeshiko appears concerned about something so she says forget it and decides to go home. That’s like having someone discover all the answers in the mystery and then just not telling anyone else despite the perfect opportunity to do so or when we’ve been following a conversation and then one character leans in and whispers something into the other character’s ear, keeping said piece of information from the audience. I hate deliberately withholding information without a good reason. If you don’t have a good reason to get out of it, don’t create a situation just to tease the audience. It’s annoying and incredibly frustrating.
