Seven gifted high school students are mysteriously transported to a strange new world with dragons and demi-humans. They don’t appear too fazed, but how will this new world cope?

What happened?

When their plane crashed, no one could have expected to live, let alone find themselves in a strange new world. Luckily for them, Lyrule and Winona saw the plane crash and were able to nurse them back to health. It was quite a shock to discover that Lyrule was an Elf and Winona a Byuma, however, it didn’t take them long to settle in and get back to full health.

Then, when an unruly knight came to the village and threatened to cause trouble, Tsukasa stepped in and orchestrated a plan to deal with the knight. The group have decided to put several goals on the table – finding out about the new world, learning more of the legend of seven heroes from another world, and repaying the village for their help. There’s just one thing that they need to be mindful of. Given their abilities they could seriously mess up this world if aren’t careful.

What did you think?

Firstly, let me just say that this episode could have been terrible and I wouldn’t have cared because of Lyrule and Winona. Seriously, dropping two best girls on us in the first couple of seconds was a masterpiece in planning. Secondly, the episode was actually a lot of fun. I enjoyed the odd mix of characters that make up the seven high school prodigies and it was fun seeing them introducing mayonnaise. No doubt, this will be a continuing theme where they bring technology, education, etc from their world.

There also appears to be a reason for their arrival and it looks like it could be interesting. My only criticism is that all of the seven seem too nice. It is early so that could change and since they all know each other and each other’s skills no one is going to do anything too overt. After suffering through Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks? last season, this is already looking like an improvement. Plus, have you seen Lyrule and Winona?
