What even is sleep?! It’s been a rough week in which I even went three whole days without watching any anime. I think that’s the longest I’ve gone in years and it made me cranky… Well, the reason why did!
February 22, 2021
That’s right, three whole days with no anime. To make matters even worse, on two of those days I was still doing the day job at four in the morning. Yeah, day job… I’ve mentioned before about the cyclical nature of my day job and how it seems to be creeping into my extra activities, well this was a full-blown invasion. The curse of working from home… that said, I have no intention of ever going back into an office on a regular basis.
My plans have been bouncing back and forth, often with me reacting to the latest bit of job creep, but thankfully, my latest plan is still intact. I know, it was only last week, but even with this crazy period of work, it continued to make sense.
Knowing that I will only be covering three shows at a time has been quite liberating, especially considering, I will be doing older shows that have finished airing. It will work with my ever-shifting routine. If I have more time, I can push ahead on the series I’m watching. I can also watch in batches which I find help me immerse myself in the story more than alternating or having to watch weekly.
As I started The Quintessential Quintuplets, The Promised Neverland, and Dr Stone, I will of course finish reviewing those, but then it’s total freedom for me and my viewing schedule. I am pretty excited about the prospect of pushing ahead and scheduling into the future.
With the older shows, I have finished Harukana Receive and Goblin Slayer with the final episode reviews coming out this week. I am currently working through season two of KonoSuba, and for full disclosure and proof that this system will work, I have finished reviewing Record of Grancrest War. That’s right, I have watched and reviewed all twenty-four episodes. The post for episode twelve is going to be published on Tuesday.
By doing that, I have a post scheduled every Tuesday until the end of May. My next short-term goal is to complete KonoSuba, and then the third show that will begin once the newly airing seasonal shows have finished. That will pretty much free up all of March, April, and May for me to focus on writing fiction. It’s going to be like November where I was able to just go for it. I’m not going to lie, the new schedule is looking promising.
So with the writing, as before, my first goal will be to complete the edits for Black Death. I have completed the revised outline for all three books and now I just need to shuffle the chapters a bit, add a couple more, and edit some to fit better. It’s a project that has been hanging over me for quite some time and I’m quite certain it has held me back from other projects.
After that, I will get back to work on my paranormal harem rom-com that I started in November. I’m about two-thirds of the way through the first draft. That will be my first web-novel once I’ve given it an edit and got some fresh eyes on it. Then, I’ll start releasing the chapters here and on a number of web-novel platforms. As soon as that starts, I’ll be working on the next one.
The overall goal will be to keep the stories flowing and the blog posts scheduled, and with the way it worked out, even with a workweek from hell, I’m optimistic that things will work out for me. I’ll probably even have more time to watch anime…
