The Super HxEros believed that they had found their fifth and final member needed to fight back against the Kiseichuu, however, their celebrations were premature… Kirara was still not ready to admit that she had that much H-energy!
Super HxEros (Episode 1) – In This World Filled With Light
What happened?
Kirara stormed out of the meeting, refusing to join the team. She didn’t understand why it should fall to them to save the world, or why Retto’s uncle was dressed in such an unusual manner. With no other leads on anyone as powerful, they needed Kirara, and since Retto knew her the best, it fell to him to try to convince her to join. However, he also knew what she had been through and refused to force her into anything. When he approached her to explain the situation, she had been ready to fight back, but once she heard why he was fighting the Kiseichuu, her mind began to change.
The problem wasn’t that she didn’t think she was up to it. If anything, she’d spent all of the time since her first incident with the Kiseichuu trying to ignore it. She wore gloves so that she never touched anything that had been touched by a boy in case it awoke her urges. Her first meeting with the Kiseichuu showed her who she really was and she was scared to admit that she was that different to everyone else. So, she had been suppressing her feelings and her urges because she was ashamed of what that made her – a slightly more horny than normal teenager…
When Kirara saw a Kiseichuu closing in on a boy she had mercilessly turned down early that day, she decided to step in and help. Even though she had no powers, she decided to do what she could. Luckily, Retto showed up and finished it off before it could hurt Kirara. After that, Kirara agreed to join the team and was quickly moved into their shared house. The girls gave her a tour, leaving Retto to relax in his room. Then, an alarm went off, Retto’s bed flipped him on to a slide, and dropped him into the bathroom, where the girls were… bathing… Kirara was furious and stormed off. However, she had been equipped with the same watch that Retto used to harness his H-energy. As she displayed her annoyance, she accidentally released a massive burst of energy into the air which blew a hole in the roof and took out the giant Kiseichuu flying overhead. Welcome to the team!
What did you think?
I loved this episode, especially as it took some time to really look at the reasons behind Kirara’s past. I mentioned in the last post that the first episode did an amazing job of making us think that Kirara had been damaged by the Kiseichuu, when in fact, it was quite the opposite. She possessed so much H-energy that the Kiseichuu died, but not before saying how stunned it was that Kirara was that horny! That traumatised her more than anything. Suddenly, she wasn’t normal.
We got to see how her actions since then had been unlike her previous self. We knew that Retto had been affected by her change in personality and that was a driving force behind his decision to fight. That image was enough for Kirara to fight against the suppression that she had forced on to herself. She’s still completely ready to admit that she is basically a walking mess of hormones ready to explode at a moments notice (like most teenagers), but she’s in the team, which means living with the others, and we already got a brief glimpse of how crazy life is there.
I loved the way that Kirara accidentally released an unbelievable amount of energy from Retto dropping into the bath with them, which completely wasn’t his fault. It was even funnier to see that she destroyed the Kiseichuu that had raised the alarm and dropped Retto in there to begin with. At some point, I hope she comes to terms with who she is and embraces it, but I’m also glad that their taking their time to allow that to happen. There’s a lot more fun to be had this way!
