Author Journey (June 17, 2024)
This week’s instalment of “What cool stuff did I buy on eBay?” may surprise you, however, that wasn’t even the most exciting thing that happened. And then, I got an idea for a new project… seriously, I’m out of control!

Favourite Moment!
So, I bought a couple more things from eBay. I know, I’ve been a little crazy of late, but this feels like a good place to stop. Ages back, I saw an Erza Scarlet figure on Amazon and was quite drawn to it. However, the price was on the wrong side of ridiculous, so I resigned myself to never owning one. I’d imagine you can see where this is going! Well, I found the same figure on eBay on the resellers market from Japan. Not only that, it was more than half the price of a new one. Not wanting to miss the opportunity, I clicked the “Buy it now” button and waited. Erza flew from Japan to Canada in less than 48 hours and is now dominating the centre of my shelf. I’m pretty happy, anyhow!
On top of that, I hit a quite remarkable milestone. On Saturday, after my review of volume 7 of Booty Royale: Never Go Down Without a Fight!, I got a notification telling me that it was the one-thousandth day in a row that I had published a post on this site. Obviously, I knew it was coming as it’s been updating me every day since September 20, 2021, but that doesn’t make that notification any less special. It also means that I’m quite likely insane!
Writing!
Once again, I have completed no writing, but that was the plan for the rest of June. I have been thinking a lot about each of my stories as they shuffle around in my mind vying to be in the hot seat once I am back in August. I have far too many unfinished projects that I really need to sit down and get done. I’m doing myself a disservice by letting them sit around doing nothing.
Anime!
It was a little bit of a slower week for anime. I’m still working my way through Metallic Rouge and I’ve reached the point where I’m quite certain it’s a retelling of I Robot by Isaac Asimov so I have a good idea as to how it might end. We’ll find out for sure in my season review next Monday. Plus, I kept up with the current seasonal shows. There’s only one episode left of KonoSuba! I’m not ready for it to end again…
Catching up on my To-Watch List
Winter 2024
Spring 2024
- That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
- Mushoku Tensei II: Jobless Reincarnation
- KonoSuba: God’s blessing on this wonderful world!
Manga!
After finishing Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs and Gleipnir, I channelled my time into Booty Royale: Never Go Down Without a Fight! and quickly got through the remaining six volumes that I own. Unfortunately, the next volume isn’t available until July 2nd so I have to wait until I get back to continue. It’s super frustrating because the next volume should cover the final of the Valkyrie Opera, an all-girl MMA tournament!

Aspirations for the week!
Just like last week, I’ll be focused on getting my posts ready for July and what’s left of June. I’ve definitely made some good progress lately, and now I only have seven manga reviews to do. I still have twenty-three anime posts to complete, but many of those are seasonal episode and season reviews so I can’t do those before they are available. I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but it’s looking very promising that I’ll get it all done in time.
So, I’ve been thinking about other things… of course, I can’t help myself… and one of those things is my love of monster movies. I’m talking about movies like Aliens, Dawn of the Dead, Pitch Black, and Underworld. I used to watch a lot of movies and many of them featured supernatural monsters or mutated beasts. I’ve been thinking that I’d like to revisit some of those and even considered starting up another site. Luckily, I stopped myself because the thought of another set of social media accounts and all the extra stuff that comes with it would have been too much. So, at some point in the future, I may start adding a semi-regular movie review of some of my favourite monster movies as I revisit them. It’s a little bit of a change from anime and manga, but I think it could work.
Even when I’m absolutely swamped with things to do and keep up with, my mind can’t help but come up with new things for me to try to squeeze in. But then, if I didn’t love it, I would never have reached 1,000 days of consecutive posting. Here’s to the next 1,000!!! Thanks for reading.
Wow, 1000 days of posting. Congratulations!
Thanks. It’s a crazy number! I can’t believe I made it.
1000 is kind of insane, good stuff my dude. keep at it!
Thanks. Only 998 days until the next milestone!!!
Congrats on 1,000! I missed a day, so I think I’m on 4. LOL. My favorite movie of all time is Aliens. I love creature features. I’d love to see those on your site.
I dare not miss a day now until the end of time… Excellent. I love talking about creature features so expect some in the future. Will start with some of my favourites.
Congratulations on a thousand days of posts — so far! Makes a compelling argument for your diligence and endurance!
I’m going to miss Konasuba, too.
Some might call it stubbornness but I’ve found a way to turn it into a productivity tool. Now to bring my writing back under that umbrella.
I can’t believe we have one episode left! I need another season!
gz on 1000th posting, insane and a blogging god!
Thanks. Need to see if I can managed another 1,000 days in a row!!!
