Akiho decides that to be a great girlfriend she needs to be able to predict what Haruka wants. Unfortunately, this makes it look like he’s a jerk to everyone around them. He just can’t get a break!

My Girlfriend is Shobitch (Episode 5) – It Tore… What do I do?!

What happened?

Rina Saijou has convinced her mother to get her a cell phone and she’s obviously excited about it. She even shows Akiho some phone etiquette… I’m not sure asking the person you called what kind of panties they are wearing is a polite phone manner, though! Anyhow, Haruka shows her how to take a selfie and then apply face filters. Delighted, she runs through the halls telling everyone how Haruka helped her with her first facial photo!

Meanwhile, Akiho is trying to improve her relationship by predicting what Haruka needs at any given time. It makes him look like he treats her poorly and makes her do everything for him. Rina and Shizuku also attempt to join in, but that doesn’t go any better. Then, Akiho develops the hiccups and they won’t go, leaving Haruka to attempt to help her, which leads to some big misunderstandings. However, once he’s finally helped her, Shizuku develops them and the cycle continues.

What did you think?

It was another funny episode with tons and tons of innuendo and awkward misunderstandings, culminating in Kanata’s friend, Misaki buying some chocolate-flavoured condoms at the convenience store because she thought they were chocolates. Everyone’s reaction was amazing and it was better because of Misaki’s ignorance. I’m also enjoying Rina’s addition to the cast, especially as I think she makes for a better dynamic along with Shizuku than Kanata does.

This episode felt a little more disjointed though as it just bounced around giving us small segments rather than having a continued plot with the jokes carefully woven in. They were still funny, it just wasn’t as engaging as the previous episodes. I do still feel sorry for Haruka trying to save his reputation every time one of his friends opens their mouth. Of course, he’s also hanging out with a fun bunch, so not too sorry. It’s going to be interesting to see how this develops as it’s not a true harem because Haruka’s dating Akiho and the others are just around for laughs. That could change, but I doubt it.
