The Kingdoms of Ruin (Episode 10) – The Eyes That Were Lost

Shirousagi has tracked down Adonis and Doroka and is planning on taking Adonis’ head to the Queen. At first, Adonis was confident that he could beat him, but Shirousagi isn’t exactly human. This could get messy!
The Kingdoms of Ruin (Episode 10) – The Eyes That Were Lost
What happened?
Shirousagi destroyed Adonis’ bike and then began to juggle with the severed heads of the two ninjas that attacked him. To add insult to injury, he didn’t know or care who they were, but when he made the heads kiss, Doroka demanded he stop it. Unfortunately for Doroka, he’s faster than a human and grabs her before she can react. Adonis pulls her free and begins to cast magic, but it takes too long and he’s thrown through a wall. He shoots at Shirousagi and even enlarges the last bullet, but none of them hit. Doroka tries to use her love magic on him, but he’s immune because he’s already under the Queen’s spell.
He unleashes a swarm of robot hands from his back and leaves them to fight Adonis and Doroka. Adonis tried to tell Doroka to stay back, but she refused to let him be killed. They fight back with magical weapons and then manage to bind Shirousagi with more magic. However, his robot hands grab Adonis before he can finish the spell. Doroka tries to help him, but another hand grabs her hair and carries her into the sky. Eventually, the spell breaks, leaving Shirousagi with the chance to take Doroka out of the fight. His hands grip her face and then drive their thumbs into her eyesockets…

What did you think?
There are two episodes left and I am seriously thinking about dropping this series. This episode was awful on so many levels and that’s even before we talk about the eye-gouging which was disgusting. So, firstly, what’s happened to Adonis’ power levels? He was fighting an entire city and all of its military might in the first episode and now he can’t handle one cyborg! The fight was boring with too many stops and starts for the most ridiculous reasons. He even pulled out a scroll that was a manual on sword fighting for Doroka to study…
On top of that, this episode was packed full of flashbacks that all felt completely unnecessary. We saw the Emperor jumping off the tower at the Queen’s command. We saw Chloe being stripped by the Emperor. We saw Doroka remembering all the “good times” she had with Adonis before the awful eye-gouging moment that ended this episode. I guess we’re back to pointless fighting and over-the-top shock-value storytelling. And after this series almost brought up a couple of interesting ideas. My rating for this series is already insanely low and if this keeps up it’s going to go even lower. I can’t see any redemption in the next two episodes. I’m going to push through so I can write a season review having finished it. At least, I can attack it without holding back then.
