The Kingdoms of Ruin (Episode 11) – Knightfall

The Kingdoms of Ruin Title

Shirousagi took Doroka’s eyes. Adonis fought back and then took Doroka away so he could do something about the bleeding. Once she was in a better condition, he took the fight to Shirousagi in a big way!

The Kingdoms of Ruin (Episode 11) – Knightfall

What happened?

Doroka was bleeding heavily which forced Adonis to seal her wounds with the heat from one of Shirousagi’s robot hands. Her screams, however, were enough to alert Shirousagi to their location. Then, Adonis emerged from within the building in the hand of his giant golem that he attacked New Nightmare in the first episode. Shirousagi was warned about the destructive power of the golem so he pulled back and used his hands to take it down. Adonis continued to chase Shirousagi and almost got a good hit on him but for Shirousagi’s robot hands.

Doroka found herself on the ground beside the remains of the giant golem. She stumbled along the street calling for Adonis. Eventually, she found him, however, he had been defeated by Shirousagi who tossed him against a stone slab, pinning him down with the exposed iron bars. Then, he turned his attention to Doroka, ripping her dress and then punching her in the gut. Adonis begged Doroka to use her love magic on him, she could use him like a marionette. Anything as long as they defeated Shirousagi.

As with all shows like this, there have been numerous comments about people continuing to watch them if they aren’t enjoying them. Well, the truth is it doesn’t matter why someone continues to watch a show. That’s up to them. For me, I want to be able to say that I gave it every chance to win me over. There are shows that I didn’t instantly love and then grew to enjoy them. Some shows start poorly and then get better. This series has had moments that made me think it would. There has been potential, but it keeps getting wasted. This episode was no exception. The fight may have appeared entertaining, but it was completely pointless.

We’re supposed to believe that Shirousagi is a big deal. He’s keeping up with Adonis who has most definitely had his power withdrawn from the earlier episodes. Anyhow, whatever you think about Shirousagi gouging out Doroka’s eyes, it was a dumb move as far as a fight goes. Rather than doing that, he could have turned his attention to Adonis and really hammered into him. Doroka wasn’t going to stop him when she was suspended in the air. He didn’t need to antagonise Adonis. Maybe, he’s just sadistic, but it made no sense in terms of the fight. On top of that, how did he not hear Doroka screaming when Adonis seared her eyes shut? Then, why did Adonis attack with the giant golem when he could have used any number of other attacks to take Shirousagi out? Also, the golem was so destructive that a couple of those flying hands destroyed it in seconds. There’s no consistency to anything in this show. What a waste of potential!
