What happened?

As they prepared for the first expedition as a party, Roxanne explained that only a blacksmith can add skills to equipment and only dwarves can be blacksmiths. Unfortunately, a trustworthy one can be hard to find, but Michio decides he will do that and add them to the party. He also reassures Roxanne that he will not be going home and plans on staying with her forever. That seems to ease some concerns she had. Anyhow, to the labyrinth.

Michio uses teleportation magic to get them to the labyrinth which surprises Roxanne as she’s never heard of it before. He asks her not to tell anyone. Before they head after the monsters, Roxanne asks Michio for a magic crystal. A what now? Roxanne explains that when you kill a monster, a magic crystal will absorb its magic. The more you kill the more the crystal is worth. Eventually, they sell for a lot. Michio curses his missed opportunity, but heads to get them some as soon as they are done for the day.

It also turns out that Michio has a skill that makes his crystal fill faster so he’s already got it to purple which is usually from killing one hundred monsters. They have not killed that many. Again, Michio tells her not to tell anyone. To get further into the labyrinth, Michio decides they need the ability to heal themselves. To do that, they will need to fight barehanded. They both defeat a monster and acquire the monk job. He assigns it as Roxanne’s primary role which she didn’t know was possible… He asks her not to tell anyone about that either.

What did you think?

I enjoyed this episode a lot more than the last one. It was funny seeing Michio using all the skills that he’d picked up and seeing Roxanne’s reaction, especially when he was able to change her job setting. It gives us a good idea of just how overpowered he is, and it seems like it’s a lot. I also enjoyed seeing Roxanne fighting and enjoying herself in the dungeon. This highlighted why I think Michio should have taken things slower with Roxanne. I still maintain the idea that he wasn’t a complete jerk, but he could have taken it slower.

Anyhow, we also got some valuable information about the labyrinth and magic crystals. If only Michio had had one when he got trapped in the monster lair a couple of episodes back. He would have had more money than he knew what to do with. Of course, the way things are going, he’s going to need more money. I can see him visiting the slave trader once more to find a dwarf and I’m sure he’ll have the perfect thing for him.

The episodes are far more enjoyable when there’s a balance between the ecchi stuff and the adventurer stuff. So far, I’d say the last episode was the only one that really got the balance wrong. It needed something to break up the awkward bedroom scene between Michio and Roxanne. This one was far better.
