Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World (Episode 6) – Trials
What happened?
The floor boss was pretty easy to defeat, although the second time it almost activated magic which Michio was able to nullify with Durandal. When the second fight was over, Michio acquired the job title of herbalist which allowed him to create potions. Of course, that just highlighted that there are things other than physical attacks that can kill you. Back at the guild, Michio bought a number of remedies for various attacks such as poison attacks.
On their way home, Michio spotted a suspicious-looking guy hanging around outside Allen’s building. He was able to confirm it was a bandit so they went in to warn Allen. Well, it turned out that the guy Michio had sold to the trader was actually a bandit and two men came to buy him earlier. They asked that he be kept there until tomorrow. Obviously, it was a plan to have him open the doors at night so they could come in and steal things. Maybe, even slaves.
Roxanne was concerned for her friends there and asked Michio to do something. He told Allen that he could hire Michio as a bodyguard. Allen agreed and asked Michio to come back at night through the back door. Then, they would wait for the bandits to strike.

What did you think?
We got some more valuable information as Michio and Roxanne fought the boss twice. I like that Michio is able to see the stats and react to them such as realising how certain jobs are attained. The fact that he can adjust his preferences and even his party members is clearly a bit of a cheat, but then that’s what we’d expect from a series like this. I do enjoy it when Roxanne sees him doing something he shouldn’t be able to and he casually asks her not to tell anyone.
At first, I was a little surprised to see Roxanne want to defend the slave trader’s house, but it does make sense that she would want to protect the people behind the scenes that may have been her friends. However, I can’t help but think she would show little concern if something were to happen to Allen. One thing I really want this series to reveal is how Roxanne became a slave in the first place. She said she used to be in a party so what happened?
I like that it continues to show Michio and Roxanne’s relationship developing, especially as it could have done it this way, to begin with, and created a more genuine connection between them. At the moment, the whole slave angle seems like a way to fast-forward their relationship when it probably wasn’t necessary.
