Honey Trap Shared House (Volume 2) – But It’s All a Lie!
What happened?
Emily is the daughter of the spy who made Hiyato who he is today. He was even welcomed into their family and saw Emily as a little sister. However, she was now trying to seduce him and turn him to MI6, but when it came to it, he still had the upper hand. Hiyato escaped with the deeds to the shared house and returned home with Seraphy and Maria. When they entered there was a feeling that something wasn’t quite right. To their shock, Emily had moved in and would be staying there under the pretence of a study tour. That made things a little more complicated for Hiyato and the others. As could be expected, the girls were all busy trying to ensnare Hiyato in a honey trap with the hopes of turning him to their side and recovering the top-secret information that the shared house supposedly had.
Unfortunately for Hiyato, the bathroom seemed to be a particularly dangerous place to visit. He just wanted to unwind in the bath after a long day pretending to be the super for the shared house and spying on all of the girls. First off, he found Emily in the bath waiting for him. She had been hiding in there for three hours. The heat had taken its toll and left her unable to do much. Then, Seraphy came in and offered to wash Hiyato’s back in the hopes that he would start to see her as his wife. However, after a moment when Hiyato let his guard down, they both started to have doubts as to whether the other was actually a spy or not. Before things got too far, Maria came in and picked things up from when they lived at the orphanage together, choking Hiyato while Seraphy watched from the bathtub. As crazy as things were for Hiyato, they were about to get even worse when an agent from the People’s Republic of Ceres moved in and instantly made a move on Hiyato!

What did you think?
This volume wasn’t nearly as entertaining as the first one. I don’t know if it was the fact that Emily didn’t really bring that much to the shared house. Sure, she has a very different body type and mannerisms, but the battles between Seraphy and Maria were already so wildly entertaining that I don’t think we really needed another girl. So, the addition of another girl at the end of the volume is no doubt going to make things even more convoluted. Basically, I just want to see more of a focus on Seraphy and Maria. I could change my tune in the next volume, but that’s my initial thought.
It was still a lot of fun and the few moments where it did focus on Seraphy and Maria were excellent. I do wish we had seen a little more of their fights with Emily’s servants as they started off so well and then we just saw the outcome. We’ve seen so little of Seraphy using her blades which seems to be criminal since every time she does, it’s spectacular. Anyhow, I wonder how many bedrooms the shared house has and consequently how many spies are going to end up moving in. There’s definitely a lot more fun to be had with this story and I’m going to be here until the end.

What was your highlight?
One of the reasons that I think I like the Hiyato, Seraphy, and Maria trio is that you can feel the bond between them from their days at the orphanage together. I had to laugh at one scene where Hiyato and Seraphy were reminiscing about the good old days when they used to all bath together and then a little later when Maria came in and caught them almost kissing, they perfectly reenacted the exact same scene, all be it with Maria’s massive boobs making her chokehold a little more effective. It’s interesting that both Seraphy and Maria fall into the childhood friend category which automatically makes it harder for either of them to be successful with Hiyato.
Emily has been introduced as the little sister character type and I’m not sure exactly how to classify Hyouka Wang. She’s obviously the popular social media influencer type of character but I feel like that’s more of a front than anything. Ironically, the character type that is oddly absent is the traditional girl with long, straight black hair. Does that mean we’re going to get more girls? Probably, but as long as we continue to focus on Seraphy and Maria as the main two, I’ll be fine with that. Just don’t take too much time away from them and things will be fine.
