The Problem With Kiriya And Serene

Koushi was trying to fall asleep in his new room when a loud noise from above disturbed him. Seconds later the floor broke and a pair of legs fell through. It was Kiriya and she couldn’t climb back up so she decided to drop down. However, she landed on Koushi. She tried to explain what had happened, but then Koushi spotted a shoujo manga in the debris. That was when Kiriya lost it again and punched a wall. Turns out she gets flustered while reading shoujo as she grew up in a dojo.

She asked if she could sleep in his room afraid that she might fall through the hole. Koushi reluctantly agreed, but then he got flustered and ran off to her room to sleep. While he was sleeping, Serene came into Kiriya’s room and offered to fix everything if he became her servant. He was quite sleepy and agreed. She sealed the pact with a kiss and when he woke in the morning it was as if nothing had happened.

Atena Awakens

Koushi prepared the girls vegetable soup for breakfast and they were all mightily impressed. So much so that they demanded he makes them dinner too. He was delighted and asked if there was any money for groceries. They pointed him to a peculiar looking piggy bank and told him to take it from there. Atena was a little surprised to see everyone bonding so well with Koushi and assumed he was up to something so she offered to come with him to get the groceries.

Atena’s affliction made the trip fairly eventful and when she almost lost it, bumping into two guys, Koushi managed to carry her away calling her big sis. She took him to an internet cafe that she frequents as a place to gather herself when things get tough. He’s worried that he overstepped, but she just wants him to call her big sis again. And again. And again. It seems to cure her of her affliction, but then she steps on her skirt and flashes her panties at Koushi. When she tries to recover it all goes wrong and she ends up sitting on him. At dinner, she decides she will thank him by being his big sister and protecting him from the other girls…

What did you think?

The dream continues! Anyhow, this was a very funny episode and also a little mysterious. Part of me wants to make some crazy predictions about Serene and even Koushi. I’m not sure how Serene fixed the rooms but that seemed a little fantastical. Is she actually a goddess? Are they all goddesses? But then I started to wonder if maybe, Koushi is the mystical being. What twelve-year-old is able to cook like that and he knows just what to say to each of them to make them think better of themselves.

Of course, all of this could be pointless speculation as it’s quite likely that this is just a good old fashioned ecchi harem series. The usage of tropes certainly points to that fact as they are breezing through them at quite the rate. If anything it’s surprising how often Koushi is getting sat on. Even with that in mind, I’m really enjoying this series so far. I can’t wait to see what they do next!
