The vacation isn’t over without a trip to the beach, however, that seems to put Koushi into a bit of a funk. Luckily, Frey has an idea that she’s certain will help. That’s right, it involves cosplay!

Sutea Ponders About the Sea

The girls are enjoying the beach. It’s good to be able to really relax after the haunted mansion they stayed at. Sutea is feeling a little self-conscious about her body, which is understandable when she’s standing near a group of Goddesses. Koushi, meanwhile, is sat on the beach with a pair of binoculars so that he can keep an eye on them. That’s when he notices Sutea, who appears to be having some trouble. He races towards the water to save her, but it’s Kiriya who pulls Sutea out of the water.

The good news is that Sutea is fine. She actually wasn’t drowning. It was a fish that had somehow slipped into her bikini and was making things difficult… Kiriya pointed out that Koushi was really worried about her. Sutea felt awful for how she treated everyone when she first visited and made a point of apologising to Atena and Kiriya. Koushi, however, was having some issues of his own and those were compounded when he tried to save Atena from a couple of bros!

Koushi Makes his Cosplay Debut

Koushi was feeling down after the events on the beach. There didn’t seem to be anything that could shake him out of it either. Luckily, Frey had a plan. She asked Koushi if he could help her with something and without thinking he agreed. The next thing he knew, Frey had taken him to a cosplay venue where they can have a proper photoshoot. She’d even prepared them both themed costumes.

However, this wasn’t just Frey attempting to have some fun or even lift Koushi’s spirits. No, her goal was to get him to talk. She could tell that he needed to get something off his chest and she believed that he would be able to do it dressed as someone else. After some fairly thrilling fighting, Koushi broke down and explained how he wanted to be seen as a guy and not just a little brother. He was also worried about how that would change his position at the dormitory and with the other girls. They didn’t come up with a solution, but it freed Koushi up to be happy again.

What did you think?

After the first couple of minutes of this episode, I was worried I was going to end up with hundreds of screenshots. There’s nothing quite like a good beach episode. However, it wasn’t just a chance for us to see them all in their swimwear as it allowed Sutea to apologise to the girls and helped her to relax about Koushi. It also made Koushi realise that he wasn’t entirely happy with the way things were going.

As if that was amazing enough, Frey delivered an outstanding moment where she got Koushi to open up. You can say what you want about the messing around and inappropriate nudity (as if there is such a thing), but these girls care about Koushi and they basically saved his life. They constantly look out for him and made a situation where they could help him without impacting his pride. We should all be so damn lucky to have a group of friends like the Goddesses.

And one final observation. The cosplay studio that Frey and Koushi went to had a photo on the wall outside of girls cosplaying as the Goddesses. A small detail, but it made me chuckle.
