My [Repair] Skill Became a Versatile Cheat, So I Think I’ll Open a Weapon Shop (Volume 4) – I’ll Fix You…

What happened?

Luke repaired the bridge and waited for the army to push on and secure the fort on the far side. However, Luke learns that Sakura and Nagi have gone on ahead as they have the skill [Swift Dash]. Garnet and Luke hurry after them and find the base secure. However, that doesn’t last long as Norsley attacks. Just the sight of him is enough for Noir to fall to her knees since he was the one who defeated Falcon and was also the one to drag away Julia and her sister, Blanc. Sakura jumps in front of Luke to block an attack, however, it’s too strong, breaking through her sword and cleaving her in two from her shoulder to her hip…

Amazingly, Luke catches her and instantly repairs her body. This catches Norsley’s attention. Garnet jumped in to fight, but it quickly incapacitated. Then, Norsley threatens to kill Garnet. When Luke attempts to fight back, Norsley creates an ice dome around them and then traps Sakura in the wall of ice. Using one of Noir’s scrolls, Luke casts [Black Fire] on Norsley, using [Repair] to stop the scroll from breaking up, allowing him to use it as long as he has mana. However, Norsley created armour out of ice and advanced. Luke used [Decompose] to break through Norsley’s armour, but that’s not enough to stop him. After shielding Garnet with his body and taking several ice spears in the process, Luke uses his own blood to create weapons that pierce Norsley’s body. Then he appraises Norsley, locating his heart before killing him with one attack.

The enemy forces disappeared shortly after Norsley was killed, however, the army followed and discovered that the dwarven village had been destroyed and the dwarves killed. Once back in Green Hollow, Sylvia treats them all to a big meal, however, Sakura, Garnet, and Noir are all feeling quite inadequate given that Luke had to take care of everything himself. A little drink eases the tension and allows them to drunkenly assess the battle, but will it be enough? The next day, Garnet asks Luke to make her a new weapon and a set of armour so that she can better protect him.

Then, Dustin contacts Luke, asking to meet with him. Travis has also been summoned. Once they are all together, Dustin revealed that the clay mannequins were being controlled by another sorcerer who he defeated. But then a white mage appeared and attempted to fight back before being chased away by Dustin. He asks Luke if Blanc would willingly switch sides or whether he thinks it’s like Falcon. It could be either! Anyhow, Dustin also reveals that the clay mannequins were inside the golem bodies they recovered and have since destroyed all the evidence and then vanished. Green Hollow can no longer be considered safe.

What did you think?

Well, that was a nice piece of action. The fight with Norsley was crazy and at times a little hard to follow what skills were being used and when, but you get enough for it to be believable. It was definitely the most intense action we’ve seen since the dragon attack in volume one, especially the fact that Luke healed Sakura who had been cut in two. I like that his powers are getting stronger the more he uses them too since that means we’ve not yet seen his full potential. This volume also did a good job of giving the girls doubts about their abilities and allowing them to work on those without it falling to Luke to cheer them up. Thankfully, Sylvia is around to allow them to talk out their issues.

And we even got another girl for the harem… I mean another employee for the shop, who just happens to be a girl called Erica who is a healer. Now, Luke’s shop has weapons, magic items, and potions on sale. If this keeps up, he’ll be creating a chain of stores equivalent to the medieval version of Walmart! Anyhow, this was a fun volume with a lot more action than we’ve seen in the last two volumes. It is nice to see Noir settling in as well as I felt like she was less of a part of Luke being abandoned. She seemed to be under the control of her sister, Blanc. I get the feeling that these two are going to be able to work out their sisterly issues real soon, especially if Blanc had anything to do with the clay mannequins that are now running around Green Hollow. I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
