The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter (Episode 8) – A Little Girl’s Wish

Noir is approached by a Dryad in the form of a little girl. She tells him that a monster is attacking her true form and it will soon kill her unless he can defeat it. However, it’s too powerful! What will Noir do?

What happened?
In exchange for Noir’s help, Dory will show him where he can find two treasure chests and the way to the eighth floor. Sounds like a great deal… Not when the monster attacking the tree that is Dory’s true body is more than four times as powerful as Noir. He can’t do anything but refuse. It would be suicide.
But then, he watches the Golden Bee drain more mana from the tree and sees what it does to Dory. She’s in pain and even smiles when he says that he can’t help her. But, surely he can’t leave it like this. No. Noir decides to go see Olivia for help, which delights her to no end.

However, Olivia recommends that he walk away. She doesn’t want him to die and leave her all alone in the dungeon once more. So, she comes up with a plan and then leaves it to Noir to follow through. It involves using the other monsters on the floor to help him, but that’s easier said than done.
Noir throws a stone at a pack of wolves and leads them to the Golden Bee that is now attacking Dory again and she really can’t take any more. He edits the Golden Bee’s skill, making it easy for enemies to target it. The wolves suddenly change attack and go after the bee. It kills them all but not before being weakened significantly. That gives Noir the chance to hit it with a mix of water and electricity which finishes it off.
Dory gives him the contents of two treasure chests. He decides to give one to Emma and the other will be perfect for Lola’s competition. Back at the Guild, it’s time to find out who was the top receptionist. It’s a tense event, but Lola comes out on top much to Sarah’s annoyance, however, she still hands Noir a map to her house…

What did you think?
So, the last episode was hilarious. I loved it in fact. This one, not so much. There were several moments that really made this uncomfortable viewing and I’m not sure that’s what they were going for. At least, I hope it wasn’t. All of these awkward moments could have been avoided had the several thousand-year-old Dryad not taken on the form of a little girl. I would have preferred it if she even looked several thousand years old.
The better parts of the episode feature Olivia and she said something that reminded me of a prediction I made earlier in the season. That was the idea that Olivia was evil and had been tricked into going into this dungeon so that she would be imprisoned and her overpowered skills lost forever. Anyhow, hopefully, the next episode will get back to focusing on Emma, Lola, and Luna. Maybe even some more Elna.

I am likely to save this one for next season. My dance card is full.
My dance card is always full. Feel like I’m forever juggling and rearranging my schedule. This is an easy going series and it’s always nice to have a couple of them to break things up, I find.
What always happens is that an anime I started won’t pan out like I hoped, so I drop it. I consider that an opportunity to pick up one I missed. I don’t mind not seeing an anime the instant it comes out. I’ll get to it.
I’ve pretty much stopped watching them as they air because I prefer to binge them and it’s kinder to my schedule. There’s still too many to watch and not enough time to do it though.
