Sabikui Bisco (Episode 10) – Tetsujin Revived
What happened?
Pawoo and Jabi battle the giant apes that are protecting the cannon that looks like a giant pink elephant. The Rust has been loaded in and it looks like they won’t be able to stop it. Well, not if Pawoo has anything to say about it. She lifts one of the gorillas above her head and tosses it at the elephant, sending it crashing to the ground. Pawoo then runs inside to find Bisco.
Milo and Pawoo emerge from the facility to find Jabi. He already knows that Bisco is gone, but has to ask all the same. Milo tells him that Bisco is in his heart. Devastated, they retreat from the facility that is rapidly falling apart. Coolant pipes break free, pumping cool gas into the air. Rescue teams descend in an attempt to stop the fire and look for survivors.
Unfortunately, it would appear that Tetsujin has awoken. One of the five or six giant machines that started the Rust Wind and destroyed Tokyo all those years ago has emerged from the smoke. It screams and then sends a blast of energy from its mouth. Did it just target the Rust Eaters? Milo realises that he’s the only person with the Rust Eater serum in his body so decides to go after Tetsujin alone.
He catches up and challenges it, referring to it as Kurokawa. There seems to be some truth to that acknowledgement. Tetsujin goes wild and destroys a mountain trying to get to Milo. In a desperate plea to win, it fires another energy blast almost directly up.

What did you think?
I wasn’t sure how things would progress without Bisco or Kurokawa, but I needn’t have worried. This was an insane episode. Kurokawa’s consciousness merging with Tetsujin is surprising as there’s been nothing to suggest that might happen so it feels like less of a twist and more of an ass-pull. It’s entertaining but without any foreshadowing, it feels like cheating.
Seriously, can Pawoo get any hotter? Oh wait, she just threw a giant gorilla and knocked over an enormous pink elephant like it was a bowling pin. I knew Pawoo was going to be my main girl for this series the moment I laid eyes on her and she has not disappointed one bit. I definitely have a type when it comes to anime girls!
Let’s talk about Akira again shall we? In the last episode, I noticed the facility and how it looked similar to the one that housed Akira’s remains. Then, when the coolant pipes started bursting off and flailing through the air I was convinced that this is an Akira reference. Of course, the monster is called Tetsujin, which is not too dissimilar to Tetsuo in Akira. There have been too many similarities that it can’t be an accident, even with the influence Akira has.
