What happened?
The city of Horizon is indebted to Rein’s party and they are more than happy to show that appreciation. The adventurers’ guild promoted Rein two levels to a C-ranked adventurer and handsomely rewarded their efforts. Now, that Rein has lots of money, Natalie, the guild receptionist suggests that Rein buy a house in Horizon. It’s a good investment and it would double up as a base for their operations. Rein thinks it’s a great idea, especially as his two-bed room in the inn is getting a little crowded. Luckily, Natalie can help sort out all of the paperwork. It’s a service the guild offers to ensure the best adventurers remain local.
They looked at several houses and each one had something that wouldn’t work with one of the girls. After a day of house hunting, Natalie showed them one that was perfect. It had ten bedrooms and was fully furnished too so they could move in. It seemed too good to be true, so why was it the last house she was showing them? Well, it turned out to be haunted! Kanade had a big problem with it, but Rein was sure that they could make it work. They went inside to inspect and were instantly told to leave by a mysterious ghostly figure.
After Runa and Sora sealed the room so that the ghost couldn’t leave, Rein tried to talk to her. It turned out that she was a maid for a guy who liked to beat his employees. She figured he went too far and then she woke up as a ghost. After some time, she settled in this house and had been there for thirty years. Rein asked her if she would like to continue living there. Tina was shocked. They didn’t want to vanquish her. Of course, the others instantly knew that was going to happen, so they gained a new member – a ghost!

What did you think?
This was a great way to finish the season, which Rein then told us was the prologue! Well, that’s exciting. I suppose he now has a pretty formidable party made up of ultimate species, a demi-god, and a ghost. I’d actually love to see how this progresses from here. Will they take it easy or will they find themselves on a path to face the Demon King? Given that I believe Arios will end up siding with the Demon King, I think it’ll be the latter option. Either way, I would watch more of this. It was a lot of fun and asked enough questions to keep things interesting.
Also, who wouldn’t want a ghost maid who looked like Tina and was able to cook? As soon as they said it was haunted, I knew Rein was going to find an attractive ghost and convince them to join his party. The guy is the ultimate Chad and he doesn’t even realise it. Another great moment in this episode was when Arios tried to use his hero status to get free supplies from the citizens of Horizon. I loved that they told him off for abandoning them when the demon attacked and even told him that Rein was the real hero.
