Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious (Episode 11) – The Truth Is Too Much to Bear

Seiya agreed to meet up with Ristarte, Mash, and Elulu for some rest and relaxation, but only once he’d completed some necessary preparations. When he doesn’t return, they start to worry and head to the Divine Realm.
What happened?
After some very interesting shopping choices from Ristarte, they returned to their hotel expecting to find Seiya waiting for them. He wasn’t there, so they waited. After a while, they started to worry and headed back to the Divine Realm to see if Ishtar could offer some advice, but instead of finding Ishtar, Ariadora found them. She took them to a sacred place that few have ever been, where Ishtar was waiting for them. Ishtar told them that Seiya had gone to face the Demon Lord alone to protect his friends. It was then that we saw a glimpse of the past that made Seiya who he was and Ristarte was a big part of that.

What was your favourite element?
Part of me really doesn’t want to say anything, because this episode and the series needs to be seen. For weeks now, they’ve been hinting and teasing us about the past. Well, it all finally came together and it was spectacular. Utterly heartbreaking, but spectacular all the same. It turns out that this isn’t Seiya’s first time being summoned as a hero. He had been summoned by Ariadora to save another world, one that was home to Tiana, a princess that was reborn as a goddess. I’ll be honest the scene where they faced the Demon Lord was brutal, but it also brought everything together.

What have you learnt?
I want to talk about the foreshadowing of the events in this episode, but that would mean going back and rewatching everything to make notes… Oh, all right, I’m going to do it, but not in this post. For now, I’m just going to say that I am a huge fan of foreshadowing. There’s nothing quite like a twist that feels natural and this series has done an amazing job at setting up this moment. I was floored by the revelation even though I remember someone mentioning it on the web way back. It was far enough back that I ignored it as nonsense, but I saw it coming to be as the foreshadowing crept into each episode. I hate spoilers, but it can’t be helped now. Regardless, this story has been beautifully crafted.
