Chained Soldier (Episode 7) - United Front, Tenka, Soar

Tenka defeated the humanoid Shuuki, but there was no sign of the other two Nei had seen. Back at the dorm, they assess the situation and start to make plans for the future. First things first, however, Yuuki needs a bath!

What happened?

The humanoid Shuuki known as Rairen seemed awfully confident of himself despite Tenka destroying his entire army. He launched attack after attack against her but nothing managed to stick. If anything, she was the first one to do any sort of damage to the other. That just made Rairen angry, forcing him to attack wildly. That gave Tenka the chance to teleport Rairen into the air, and once he was there, she ripped open the fabric of space and sucked him and the remaining Shuuki into the void.

Back at the dorm, they got some more information out of Nei about their attackers. However, there was no sign of the other two humanoid Shuuki. Yuuki wondered why his sister wasn’t there and whether they were even part of the same thing. There were lots of questions. Anyhow, Yuuki had worked hard, following orders from two masters and he just wanted to unwind. A nice bath would be great. However, when he went to get undressed Kyouka and Himari followed him in and started undressing. He asked if it was the reward which just made them mad. Kyouka demanded he undress so that they could bathe him… of course, it was the reward!

Soon after, Kyouka, Yuuki, and Himari were invited to the sixth’s dormitory to discuss the plans for the future. Kyouka and Tenka went into a meeting room, leaving Himari to familiarise herself with the team and Yuuki to clean up as their caretaker was away at the moment. However, the place was remarkably clean, leaving Yuuki to focus on the laundry… the massive pile of bras and panties… He still wasn’t used to this yet. After completing that task, he delivered Yochiho’s clean uniform to her room and was relieved to find out she wasn’t there. So, he went inside and left it on the side, doing his best to not stare at the uncomfortably large number of Himari photos on the walls…

Then, he came across Sahara sleeping on the couch in her underwear. He tried to place a blanket on her, but she grabbed him, mistaking him for her pillow. Then, she forced him into a number of wrestling holds while still asleep, eventually choking him out with her thighs. After she had woken up, and Yuuki had recovered Sahara took him to the training room where they saw Himari and Yochiho. Sahara suggested that they should talk more since they were sisters. She wondered if they should show Himari Yochiho’s room. Yuuki didn’t think that was a good idea. Meanwhile, Tenka and Kyouka finished their meeting, although the last point of discussion was Yuuki. Tenka wanted him!

What did you think?

The fight with Rairen was good, especially as we got to see Tenka’s powers in action. We’ve seen her teleport her team to the seventh’s dorm, but that was nothing compared to the ability to rip a hole in space that sucked anything and everything into it. The fact that Rairen survived because Shikoko was able to teleport into the pull of the vortex and drag him out makes me think that she either has very similar abilities to Tenka or it could be that she’s similar to Himari in that she can copy other abilities. That would explain how she was able to see Nei in the last episode.

I also think that this is a different group from the ones that Yuuki’s sister was with. It’s possible that one group already existed there, the group with Rairen, Shikoko, and Jouryuu, while Aoba’s group seemed to be humans that ate peaches from Mato and were corrupted. I don’t think these two groups will like one another either so it’s going to end up as a three-way battle. And then, there’s the question of Tenka’s intentions. We saw her watching Yuuki sleep which makes the idea that she just wants a new caretaker seem a little farfetched. She wants something else from him… but what?

Anyhow, this was another fun episode with Yuuki getting rewarded by Kyouka and Himari and then getting wrestled unconscious by Sahara. Meanwhile, Shushu is obsessing about how she can make him like her and who knows what Tenka wants. It’s probably his body… That kid doesn’t know how lucky he is.
