Hibari and Shushu are ambushed by the humanoid Shuuki, but when Kyouka and Yuuki come to help, they discover it is a trap as Yuuki is kidnapped. The Shuuki vanished soon after, leaving no trace of where they went.

What happened?

Yuuki was learning a lot from Kyouka as they thought the Shuuki. She was impressed by his dedication and his ability to follow her instructions. He just wanted to get to a point where he could protect her. That thought was probably the catalyst that led to his next reward. Kyouka jumped into his arms and clung to his shoulders – a definite princess carry if ever I’ve seen one. She told him that this sort of reward was wasted on her… Was she hoping for something more? Anyhow, he told her that it was perfect and then they kissed. Or was it the reward? Who knows? Kyouka would probably never say!

Back at the dorm, Kyouka briefed the others on their recent mission, which surprisingly included Tenka who had shown up to give Yuuki a little more attention. Kyouka gave Yuuki the rest of the day off and told Tenka to go home. Yuuki decided that he would take a nice hot bath to allow his muscles to recover. However, Nei soon spotted someone in trouble. Shushu and Hibari raced out to help and found a girl running from a pack of Shuuki. They quickly defeated the Shuuki but were stunned when the girl launched Hibari into the air with a single punch.

She was one of the humanoid Shuuki who had attacked them a while back when Yuuki thought he recognised his sister. Kyouka interrupted Yuuki’s bath to demand he transform there and then. There was no time to get dressed. So, he did. They raced to help Shushu and Hibari but were stopped by Yuuki’s sister. She gave Yuuki an order which he followed to Kyouka’s surprise. Shuuki attacked Kyouka. However, Yuuki and his sister vanished while she was fighting.

Yuuki woke in a strange place with a girl lying on top of him licking him all over. She told him to stay still, but then Aoba walked in and was stunned to find Coco taking advantage of her little brother. How dare she strip him too! Naon revealed that Yuuki was naked when he reverted to his original form and that Coco was treating his wounds. With that misunderstanding cleared up, Aoba took Yuuki outside to show him the village. They were all part Shuuki but had retained their minds. There were about twenty of them and they did not like the Demon Defence Force. Meanwhile, Kyouka’s urge to reward Yuuki gave them a chance to find him. Tenka’s team joined them in the mission to save him.

What did you think?

It’s been a while coming, but we’re finally starting to get some interesting developments in the story. I know but the “plot”! Well, I enjoy a good story as much as I enjoy the “plot”, so it’s always nice to have both. I mentioned a while back that I thought Aoba’s group would not be the same as the recent group that attacked and that appears to be the case. I wonder what is at the heart of the problem they have with the Demon Defence Force. My guess is that maybe, they’re not the good guys they claim to be. Is this group the result of experimentations with Mato Peaches? I am curious as to why Aoba is always eating one. Does she need them to survive or maintain her humanity?

There are lots of questions which is great, but it would have been nicer to start the process earlier in the season. With only three episodes remaining, I doubt we’re going to see much progress, but then I think we’re building to a big shock ending for the season with the hopes that a second season or cour is on the horizon. There’s definitely more to things than we’ve been shown so far. I just hope we get the time to fully explore that.
