Mieruko-chan (Episode 2) – She Totally Sees Them

Miko Yotsuya just wants to get through the day without having to deal with any more ghosts, but they seem to be everywhere, even attached to her best friend Hana Yurikawa. This is getting out of hand!
Mieruko-chan (Episode 2) – She Totally Sees Them
What happened?
While changing after gym, Hana overhears some girls talking about a scary show in which there was a severed head in a locker. Hana doesn’t like anything scary and gets spooked. She begs Miko to check her locker for her, which she does. It’s not like there will be a severed head in there… Oh, hang on. There is a severed head in her locker. That wouldn’t be a problem if Hana could reach her phone off the top shelf where the head is.
Back in class, Hana reveals that she forgot to put on her panties after gym and wants to go back to the locker room. Miko refuses, but then a ghost comes out of Hana’s desk and wraps itself around her. Miko can’t believe what she’s seeing or that Hana doesn’t notice it grabbing her boobs. She fakes an illness and runs to the nurse’s office, however, the ghost is still there. It only leaves when it sees the nurse… Hello, nurse!
On the way home, Miko accidentally joins a line of ghosts on their way to being eaten! Then, they find a kitten in a box and there’s a ghost in with it that is rather attached to the kitten. They put a notice online to find it a home and two guys show up. One is covered in scars and tattoos and scares Hana. Then, a normal-looking guy shows up and Hana is about to give him the kitten when Miko refuses. She gives the kitten to the other guys. Ghosts attached to each influence her decision.

What did you think?
This series is fantastically funny. I can’t stop laughing and I think the funny part is that you know what’s coming… well, for the most part. I don’t think anyone would have predicted the ghost eating ghosts. The severed head was so funny, but the one with the arms that wrapped around Hana was probably the most shocking ghost yet. Just imagine being Miko and trying to keep it together as something like that latches onto your friend.
I loved the final scene with the kitten and thought that it was great that Miko was actually able to use her newfound ability to make a better choice for the kitten. I also liked that the ghost that had been attached to the kitten followed the normal-looking guy that was clearly being haunted by the ghosts of previous cats whereas the scary-looking guy had two white glowing spirits that clearly wanted to stay with him in the afterlife. It’s cute, it’s creepy, and it’s hilarious.

Just want to say that though I thought the fanservice was unnecessary and kind of weird, I still love the screenshots. Hell, maybe I was wrong.
Haha! I think it was used in a fairly clever way. These are supposed to be safe places where they don’t have to worry, but then there’s the ghosts. It felt like they wanted to show the Miko couldn’t relax. Also, they are very visually appealing…
