Seven Mortal Sins (Episode 11) – Ask, and It Shall Be Given to You
What happened?
Lucifer has been encased in ice and is tortured relentlessly by Belial. Still, Lucifer manages to remain sassy. Belial reveals that she knows that Lucifer hid her blood within Maria’s body and plans on using the angel blood to return to heaven. Of course, Lucifer doesn’t believe that Belial will be able to get into heaven, but then she doesn’t remember that Belial was once an angel. That enrages Belial more who increases her torture, piercing Lucifer’s body with spikes made of ice.
Lucifer finally remembers Belial and how she made a mess of humanity by creating their independence on miracles. That’s what got her cast out of heaven. Belial in her gloating, accidentally gave Lucifer control of the Mortal Sin as she prepared to return to heaven, but it was too soon, freeing them from their torments. The Mortal Sins returned to make Belial pay. However, Belial has absorbed Lucifer’s blood and uses the power to imprison them again. Then to twist the knife, Belial wakes Maria and tells her to stab Lucifer in the heart.

What did you think?
There was an awful lot of talking for a big battle, but it wasn’t all bad. It was confirmed that Belial was a fallen angel which I predicted in the last post. However, the best part of the episode was how Lucifer managed to get Belial to give up the Mortal Sins. I think I would have liked it if Lucifer had kept quiet about it a little longer, but she does love to brag about how awesome she is.
It was also quite a bit of foresight to switch hearts with Maria so that if Belial tried to use it against it Maria it wouldn’t do anything. The eventual battle was a bit of an anticlimax as it was over far too quickly, but then they had used up all their time with the dialogue. Now, as we enter the final episode, we’re going to get to see what an angel can do. I’m expecting a much better fight in the next one. Bring it on!
