Takt Op. Destiny (Episode 7) – Truth -Noise-

Takt Op Destiny Title

Takt is struggling to compose a song and it’s occupying his every thought. So much so that he hasn’t noticed the changes in Destiny until now. However, that will have to wait as D2s are about to attack!

Takt Op. Destiny (Episode 7) – Truth -Noise-

What happened?

They pass through a couple more towns on their way to New York and witness the obvious destruction caused by the D2s. The survivors have fled to the next town where they hope to be able to survive a little longer. Maybe even rebuild their lives. While Takt stares at his blank music sheet, Anna and Destiny are out helping the refugees.

Takt is shocked by what he sees and wonders if Cossette is still in there somewhere. However, it’s fairly clear from a conversation he has with Destiny that it probably isn’t the case. The appearance of a D2 stops their discussion as they rush to help. Destiny easily defeats it but can sense more. They rush into the hills to intercept them.

When they get there, they find a large group of D2s gathered in one spot with Felix Schindler standing in the middle. Hell has the ability to wake and summon D2s. His goal is to reduce the population and lessen the burden on resources. He plans to do this by eradicating the small towns full of “garbage”. Takt discovers that he was the one that caused the D2s to attack, leaving Cossette dead!

Takt Op Destiny Episode 7 Felix Schindler evil villain

What did you think?

Oh wow! So, Felix Schindler and his Musicart Hell are actually the bad guys! Who could have possibly imagined such an outcome? Seriously, this is beyond ridiculous and his motivations even more so. I was already not enjoying the episode before they dumped that steaming pile of exposition on us. Watching someone stare at a sheet of paper for half an episode is not entertaining. Not in the least!

For a moment there I thought it was going to tell us that the D2s are actually people, with their bodies taken over by the black meteorites similar to what happened to Cossette with the amber ones. That would have actually been interesting, especially as they’ve been mercilessly hacking through D2 after D2. Also, how the hell did Lenny and Titan know that it was where Takt was? They split up ages ago.

Takt Op Destiny Episode 7 Destiny grabbing Takt

What have you learnt?

So, Destiny is starting to develop more as a character, but unfortunately, the more she develops the less Takt improves as a person. I almost cheered when it looked like Destiny snapped his neck. At least, the next episode should begin with a fight which have been the more enjoyable moments in the series so far, even if they rarely have any real stakes.

With the addition of Takt attempting to compose a song, I find that I am even further from an idea as to what this series really is. Did I accidentally sign up for a slice of life anime and if so, how do I get my money back? The other thing I’ve noticed is that the animation seems to vary wildly in quality. I probably don’t help things as I grab the nicer screenshots for these posts. Half the time, it really doesn’t look this good.
