It took Anastasia a while to sort out all of the drops she got from the World Event, and by the time she was done, she was swimming in gold. However, she wanted to continue to improve her cooking so she went on a quest with Alfred and Skelly.

What happened?

Outside of Beginning Town, there were four main areas to explore – North, East, South, and West. Each one has its own thing that interests Anastasia, however, each of them also has a boss to beware. The boss in the South is a Coatl that attacks with poison which would suit an undead party. However, there is another potential crisis facing the players of Free Life Fantasy Online – the supply chain for food is being disrupted by the boss of the East. If it’s not taken care of, players will slowly starve and be forced to watch their stats drop. Anastasia decides that she will take on the boss of the East and then maybe head south to take on the poison boss. All she needs to do is convince Alfred, the living armour, and Skelly, the skeleton mage to join her party. With her buffs as a princess, it should be easy.

As soon as she asked them to join her, they were all in. She had helped them with their special evolution items, the World Quest, and not to mention that she was the undead princess, and how could they refuse their princess? After walking the East forest for the entire day, they noticed that it got a lot quieter at night. Most players had not become undead races so night was all theirs. Before long, they found a clearing which was most likely the site of the boss fight. They weren’t wrong. Soon a giant fighting bear appeared from the forest and challenged them to a fight. Alfred took on the role of the tank, fighting the bear at close quarters, while Anastasia hit it with some ranged attacks and Skelly used his magic. It took a while, but they eventually defeated it and were able to move on to the next area. Both Alfred and Skelly evolved, although only Alfred activated his special evolution becoming a Dullahan. They also got a special bonus for being the first players to beat the boss. On to the next one!

What did you think?

This series is feeling more and more like BOFURI and I mean that as a massive compliment. It’s easygoing, but also so much fun. I really enjoyed the adventure as these three undead players battled monsters, bosses, and prejudices of other players, assuming they were actually monsters. Alfred and Skelly have grown on me too. I wasn’t expecting much from them, but it definitely makes sense to have an undead party with the buffs Anastasia gives to undead players. I had to laugh when Anastasia was ready to carve up the fighting bear, but Alfred was feeling off about it since he had just gone head to head with it and developed a newfound respect for one another.

I’m also enjoying some of the game mechanics that we’ve seen so far, such as Anastasia’s attacks becoming useless because she hadn’t advanced to the second level. Of course, once she had levelled up, she returned to being ridiculously overpowered because of the unique choices she has made in the gameplay so far. There are a lot of similarities between her and Maple, but also more than enough to make their journeys quite different. There’s also a fighting tournament coming up, although Anastasia claims she won’t be taking part. However, her sister, Akina is planning on giving it her all. There’s still lots of fun to be had with this series.
