Hundred (Episode 2) – The Invincible Queen
Hayato has to fight the student council president and strongest Slayer to decide the fate of three other students, including Emile. Good job he only just got his Hundred!
Hundred (Episode 2) – The Invincible Queen
What happened?
Claire revealed that she would be limiting her power as it would be unfair to the spectators to finish off Hayato too quickly. She even allowed Emile to offer support to Hayato. However, when the fight began, Hayato lost control of his Hundred and flew towards Claire at an alarming speed. Neither had time to dodge. When the dust had settled, Hayato found himself lying on top of Claire. He tried to get up, but that just made things worse. Claire was not in the forgiving mood!
However, it was Claire that became pushed when Hayato appeared to lose control and go into a form of autopilot. Claire deployed her full power and won, but called it a draw as she broke the rules she set out at the beginning. Once Hayato had recovered, Claire revealed that she would not expel the students. She had some questions for him, but Emile interrupted. The next day, they had some free time so Hayato and Emile went to the business district. Hayato’s sister, Karen showed up when she believed that a woman might be tempting her older brother.
What did you think?
Things started off in an explosive manner and reminded me why I enjoyed this series. The fights are fun, but it’s the way that Hayato approaches things. He seems to go with the flow, and by that, I mean he gets pushed around and forced to do things he wouldn’t normally do. The accidental boob grab at the beginning of the fight was a perfect example of this. He was horrified at what had happened and asked for leniency.
After that, we got to see Emile doing some of the worst pretending to be a guy acting yet. It’s almost like she’s not even trying to hide it anymore. I’m amazed that anyone believes she’s a guy. Karen certainly seemed to be quite unsure. Anyhow, that’s a fairly small issue as the reactions of others and even how Hayato reacts is quite funny. It’s making him question everything he knows about himself!
What have you learnt?
Again, the lack of subtlety is astounding. In one scene, Karen is talking about some idol who is performing at some islands. Emile handily tells us that the islands are near to their current location. Hayato even remarks that he will take Karen to a concert. So, when there’s a Savage attack on a nearby island it comes as no surprise to everyone but Hayato that it’s the same islands.
Then, we have Emile picking a fight to prove how strong she is. I’m surprised that Claire would dismiss her off-hand without seeing anything about her fighting style or abilities. If they’re so in need of Slayers why not let anyone that wants to try out do so? Of course, when they see Emile’s Hundred in action, it’s unlike anything anyone is used to. If that wasn’t enough, the chief scientist, Charlotte shows up out of nowhere and recommends that Claire take them both on the mission. It’s all a little too coincidental. There must be a better way to get the same result.

I love Claire 🥰
Yeah, she is awesome. Easily my favourite character in the series.
I wanted to buy the BD collection, but I read that the Funimation release forgot to include subtitles for the Japanese audio version. Reading about it again makes me want to re-watch the series though ☺️ Hundred seriously needs a season two!
That’s annoying. I do quite like the dub on Hundred though, but it would be best to be able to watch either comfortably. I was a little worried about rewatching that maybe I’d been too soft on it before, but it was just as much fun as the first time. It’s one I would be prepared to buy on BD.
Glad that the dub is good, I still might consider buying it with that being the case!
