Lycoris Recoil (Episode 8) – Another day, another dollar
Takina has realised that the LycoReco cafe is going under. They’re not making any money and wasting what they do have. So, she’s taking control and already has a new pudding for the menu. It has an interesting design!
Lycoris Recoil (Episode 8) – Another day, another dollar
What happened?
Everyone has contributed to the soaring expenses of the LycoReco cafe. Takina, however, has a plan on how to fix it and quickly takes charge. Her first challenge is to reduce the amount of wastage from Chisato. She fires too many bullets and causes too much collateral damage. All of it is costing a lot of money. Once, that’s taken care of, she goes about streamlining the cafe itself. Every little bit helps, however, it’s the introduction of the new pudding that makes the biggest difference.
Surprisingly, everyone is in love with the chocolate pudding, and as long as they stop Takina from seeing the social media comments, all will be good. Of course, Chisato still hasn’t done her medical and is getting repeated calls to attend. When Takina finally schedules her an appointment, she doesn’t make it because Majima comes to her house. He reveals that he also has an Alan Institute necklace and tells her that the organisation isn’t what she thinks.
When Chisato finally makes it to the medical, she is seen by a new nurse. A nurse who works for Yoshimatsu and appears to be interested in Chisato’s mechanical heart. When she doesn’t show up for work, Takina calls Chisato to find out where she is. She doesn’t answer, which means Takina is going to have to find her.
What did you think?
Haha! Poo-shaped pudding… My kids would love that! Anyhow, this was a great episode and not because of the Halloween costumes or the infamous handstand scene… No, there was more to it than that. Majima visiting Chisato seemed like a way of him trying to open her eyes to what the Alan Institute is doing. I’m guessing he’s gone rogue and she may have been given the heart so that she can take him down.
The problem now appears to be that the Alan Institute has grown tired of her inactivity on her mission and looks to be ready to reclaim their gift. There was yet another hint at Takina’s involvement in the Alan Institute when Chisato noted that Yoshimatsu hadn’t come to the cafe since Takina started working there. Has she been placed to watch over Chisato and ensure she completes her mission? Obviously, she will abandon that because of Chisato’s impact on her life. The next episode should be interesting given the cliffhanger we were left with in this one.
