Lycoris Recoil (Episode 7) – Time will tell
What happened?
Robota needs Majima to put a USB drive into a computer in a police station. With that, he’ll be able to hack the DA’s computers without being discovered. Of course, to do that, they’ll need to attack a police station. Majima, however, doesn’t seem the least bit phased and the discovery that Chisato was the one that thwarted the attack on the Tokyo Tower has got him quite excited.
Meanwhile, Chisato spotted a message on Mika’s phone as she walked past. It’s not spying when you have incredible eyesight and a photographic memory. Anyhow, someone has asked to meet Mika at a place called Bar Forbidden. She believes it’s the commander and she wants to shut down LycoReco. They can’t just sit there and let it happen, so the next time Mika leaves, they follow.
Chisato and Takina enter Bar Forbidden in disguise and wait for Mika to show up. He looks like he’s on a date. Chisato decides it’s time to leave when they see Shinji Yoshimatsu sitting next to him. However, as they sneak out, Chisato overhears Shinji talking about Chisato’s heart. Was he the one to give her it? She had to thank him, but that created even more tension. What does the Alan Institute have planned for Chisato?
What did you think?
So, not much happened in this episode compared to others, but it was still a captivating watch. We knew that Chisato was the one that stopped the Tokyo Tower terror attack, although I hadn’t really considered she was that much younger when it happened. We also knew that Yoshimatsu was responsible for Chisato’s heart and the Alan Institute necklace. This just reaffirmed to us that we need to know what they want her to do. I get the feeling the Alan Institute is determined to shape the world the way they see and she is a part of that. Just as Majima is.
The real shock was that I think Mika is aware of what Chisato is supposed to do and is not only keeping it from her, but he’s also protecting her so that she can continue to shape her own path. Yoshimatsu’s comment to Takina was a curious one. I hope that doesn’t mean that she’s somehow involved. It would make sense that an organisation like that is pulling all the strings and making sure they get what they want. But what do they want? I can’t wait to find out.
