What happened?

After bumping into Sakurai on her first day at college, she was excited to see him again and also to get her college life going. There were so many possibilities. However, as the year progressed, she saw Sakurai on his own. Sometimes he was sleeping on a bench. It always ate alone. She even saw him make a snowman… alone. Well, she wasn’t going to stand for it. So, in her second year, she resolved to ensure that he wasn’t lonely anymore. They were going to hang out whether he wanted to or not!

After his afternoon class was cancelled, Sakurai was determined to have some alone time, but then Uzaki found him. Surprisingly, she also had a free schedule and decided to tag along. First, they went to the movies where Sakurai was going to watch a movie alone. Uzaki found this hilarious. After the movie, Uzaki wanted to go to the electronics store for new earbuds. However, Sakurai almost died when Uzaki tried out the massage chair and reacted as if she was starring in an adult DVD! Of course, things got worse when Uzaki tried out the vibration plate. He didn’t know where to look. Then, they got to try out the VR and things quickly got out of hand…

What did you think?

When the second season was announced, I knew I would have to rewatch the first season of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out. I really enjoyed it the first time, however, I didn’t remember it being quite this funny. One of the things that instantly sticks with me is that I am Sakurai. I love going to the movies on my own. Everything he said resonated with me. Once, I saw the Life of Pi on my own, came out of the screening, went up to the counter, and went straight into the first Hobbit movie. Good times!

Anyhow, it’s not just that I can relate to Sakurai. Uzaki is seriously hilarious. I love the way she makes a scene and says enough to make everyone think she’s talking about something else. It was just too funny when she told him to carry her because the thing they did last night hurt her back. Also, her energy is infectious. She’s just one of those people that would be fantastic to know in real life. Honestly, I laughed from beginning to end and this was just the first episode. I can’t wait to get to season two, but I know I’m in for a great time rewatching season one first.
