YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of This World (Episode 17) – A Pale, Ephemeral Vow

Kanna’s secret is out, well, one of them anyway and it’s forcing her to move schools once more. Takuya is frustrated and unsure of what to do until Mio sets him on the right path. Where would he be without the girls?
YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of This World (Episode 17) – A Pale, Ephemeral Vow
What happened?
Takuya makes it to Kanna’s apartment and tries to convince her not to leave. She tells him about how she doesn’t age like other people and the story of how she lost her mother and has been alone ever since. There was one brief period of time when Takuya’s parents took her in and made her part of the family, but then they went missing too.

Kanna tells him that she has been alone and the only connections she’s been able to make was by sleeping with people for money. She strips and tells him to take her, but he can’t. He sees her as family. Then, she receives a mysterious phone call telling her to come to a certain location. Kanna tells Takuya that it’s over and he must leave.
After a brief pity party, Takuya comes back, but Kanna is gone. He manages to trace her location to a park where he finds her arguing with Hojo. There’s a fight, Takuya wins and then Eriko shows up in her dimension cop outfit, which is as good as the school teacher outfit and takes Hojo away. In the fight, Kanna’s necklace was damaged and as a result, she’s dying. She tells Takuya where the final crystal for the reflector device is and how he can find his father…

What did you think?
Once more, YU-NO is hitting some dark moods and it really is what makes it such a compelling series. I have enjoyed every single moment so far and can only imagine how good this would be to binge the entire season. The story alone is incredible, but I’m also enjoying the characters. I can’t wait to see where we go for the remaining episodes, especially as this one ends at quite a pivotal moment.
